This place was awesome. So many artifacts. It's very heavy emotionally.
I also heard a loud, blood curling scream when we went to the part where it's dark and you can feel how cold the water is. It was so loud and clear that I thought it was a recording. Apparently, it wasn't. I came across a video of someone capturing the same scream and a shadow figure in the room. I'm really freaked out about it actually... anyway...enjoy!

Great interactive museum. I like that it has exhibit information geared separately for adults and children to enjoy. I especially liked the room with information about the musicians on board.

We made reservations thinking that was the time we would get in since we made reservations for that time. Instead we waited for about a half hour. Once we got in the experience was good. The people that worked there were very knowledgeable and we were able to go through at our own pace. I would recommend to others.

I really enjoyed the recreation of the Grand Staircase had to stand there a while it was an amazing feeling.

Very good museum. Very interactive and you learn a lot of information. It includes an audio paddle to input numbers and listen to information on what you are looking at.

This is a very well done tribute to the Titanic. There is so much information and plenty of artifacts to view. They have a replica staircase that is beautiful. It was very heart wrenching to see all the children and individuals who died and to think of what they went through.

Recreate the life of one of the passengers on the doomed ship as you are given a passenger card to take with you as your tour the museum. You will learn your fate at the end.
Standing in front of half a reconstruction of the Titanic you will see an anchor and a flower display with a captain's hat. Guests are given handheld devices to listen to various points along your walk through tour. Staff is dressed as crew members to share stories and answer any questions you may have.
This year Titanic celebrates the year of the children and you will find some children's artifacts as you walk through. The first floor shows you the layout of the ship, its maiden voyage path to NY, the building of the Titanic, pictures of launch day, how dogs were cared for, and life among both the 2nd class and steerage passengers. You even see a third class cabin recreation. Photography is not permitted on this floor until you get to the grand staircase.
Once you reach it you head up and see a first class parlor and hallway, a room dedicated to the musicians aboard ship with a piano in the center and then follow the journey as the ship collides with the iceberg and meets her terrible fate. There are many interactive stations where you can actually see if you can hold onto the stern 2 minutes before the sinking. Enjoyed seeing the marconi used to summon the Carpathia along with a Titanic made entirely out of legos.
You'll also see the underseas explorations years later and some of the artifacts they aquired. Learn about the menus, those who lost their lives as well as the destiny of those who were saved. Allow about 2 hours to tour the entire museum which empties into a gift shop.
There were many things I would have liked to have photographed on the first floor but got plenty above the grand staircase. Definitely a must visit if you like studying the Titanic.

The museum is an audio guided tour, lots of information and artifacts. We came with 3 small children and would not recommend. We went because it was advertised as being kid friendly and interactive, but would recommend for kids 8+ at least.

Very informative and engaging museum about the sinking of the Titanic. The museum has artifacts recovered from the ship, and many personal stories of survivors as well as people associated with the construction of the ship. You are assigned the name of a Titanic passenger when you board the ship, but do not know until the end if you survive, All the staff are dressed in costumes appropriate for the period. Highly enjoyable and well worth the time.

How is it the life vest on display is so much smaller than those shown in the photos of survivors.
In the photos, the vests come down past their waist and just above the knees. The one on display looks to have been made for a small child or is it a replica? It's under glass and no mention of it being a replica.

What is the Nomadic?

The Nomadic was a tender with the White Star Line, built to transfer passengers and mail to and from the Titanic and the Olympic. It is the only remaining White Star Line ship and is currently located in Belfast.
I know there is audio, however, my husband is deaf. Do you have any captioning type of device he can read? And is there an extra cost.?

Yes, we do have a printed version of our audio players for the hearing impaired. Like the audio players, there is no extra cost. Just ask for one when you receive your audio player and return it with your audio player at the end of your tour.
