Beautiful

Beautiful place to visit. There are a lot of trails here. My friend and I visited here and it was not overly crowded at the time we visited. Trails are nicely paved and the ponds are great for fishing. This is a nice place to visit with beautiful trails.

NEW Restrooms and Water Fountains !!

A hidden JEWEL !! 3.5 miles of paved and unpaved trails around 9 ponds give you an opportunity to quickly be with nature in a large metro area. I enjoy birding/
photography here but many come for the fishing and family time at the play structure and pavilion. Little Bear Creek runs along the south side. Climate controlled restrooms and a water fountain have really added to the overall experience!

This place is over crowded. It also gets very muddy on the trails after a rain storm because the water floods out over the banks.

Great for birdwatchers, but bad for the bladder

This is a 46 acre green space surrounded by a neighborhood. There are many trails to follow amongst the trees and around ponds. We spotted some wildlife, including lots of birds. Unfortunately, our time was limited here because there are no bathroom facilities. As a woman, this is unacceptable. I wanted to enjoy my time here more, but we were forced to leave early.

46-acre park...with no restrooms??

I really wanted to give this park a much higher review; however, there is just something I cannot wrap my head around. You have this beautiful park with a lot of people hiking, fishing, bird watching and yet there is not a restroom in sight. This is a rather large park with lots of things to do in it so I cannot understand why there is not a restroom anywhere that we could see. How do they expect people to spend a significant amount of time there without needing to use facilities? Most Parks we have been to at the very least have a toilet near the parking lot. We walked around this park quite a bit this morning and unfortunately we had to leave early because we could not find any facilities. This is unfortunate because this seems like a lovely park and we would have liked to have spent more time here. Unless we totally missed it, we could not find a place to use the restroom.

Other than this glaring Omission, we actually loved the part. He was extremely quiet and very Scenic. We saw a lot of people bird watching and a number of kids fishing. The trails were maintained very well. In a twist of irony, there were plenty of stations where they were bags to pick up people's pet waste.

Amazing nature given the neighborhood location

I've been to CNC many times over the last year. I have rarely gone home without great sightings of birds and other wildlife. I am excited about the owls, on my recent trip I saw Wood Ducks, a Coopers Hawk, a Red Tail Hawk, a Woodpecker and so much more! It's amazing! So lucky to have something so close with so much life!

A beautiful area

This is one of the prettiest areas of town. I wish I had taken my kids more often when they were little. This is a great place to walk around, just take bug spray, and be aware of the multitude of wildlife, especially this time of year with the seasons changing. Depending on time of day, you will see an abundance of fishermen and photographers. There are more different birds that visit here than I would ever have imagined. There are some gorgeous pictures on the friends of the center FB page.
Great place to take a break!

Outstanding any time

I live a half mile from the nature center and walk over a couple times a week. It never gets old. It is a delight any season of the year. It is the closest thing to taking a vacation. The birds are amazing and change with the seasons. The Halloween walk is in a couple weeks so put it on your calendar.

More than 180 species of birds, amazing owl watching

I discovered this gem when we moved adjacent to the CNC and I'm in it every day. With 9 ponds stocked with fish, 3 miles of walking trails and amazing wildlife it's a gem, but the real diamond in the crown is the chance to see the Barred Owls. They are truly amazing and great entertainment. I've attached a picture of a 3 month old juvenile coming in for a landing. You shouldn't miss this if you're going to be in the DFW area.

Owl watching

This nature center has beautiful and comfortable walking trails. It is full of birds and other wildlife. I especially enjoy looking of the owl families that live there. They are a popular subject for local photographers.
