The Dallas Zoo is a wonderful place to connect with wildlife and nature. It’s large enough to house an impressive variety of animals, from majestic elephants and giraffes to playful penguins and big cats, but it still feels easy to navigate. One of my favorite spots is the Giants of the Savanna exhibit, where you can watch giraffes up close and even feed them! The zoo is family-friendly, with interactive experiences like the children’s zoo and bird feedings. It’s well-kept and the staff is knowledgeable and passionate. Whether you’re with kids or just exploring on your own, the Dallas Zoo is a fun and educational day out.

The herpetarium is one of the best I have ever seen. I have never seen a live Gaboon Viper until today, only on youtube. I also got to feed the giraffes, which was great as well and saw two babies. There was a baby elephant in the elephant enclosure. The otters and penguins were cute. The place was clean. I enjoyed everything about the zoo.

The animals are missing and sad. There is little water for them. The displays are unkempt. The signage is inadequate. And you can’t convince me that no one in the civilized world is unable to fix the monorail that was the star attraction of the Wilds of Africa. I brought relatives from Europe to see the zoo of my youth and wound up completely embarrassed. Dallas has many millionaires and billionaires. A fraction of their money could make this an outstanding attraction—as it used to be. The City must just not care.

The Dallas Zoo is a fantastic destination for animal lovers and families. It’s large, well-maintained, and home to a diverse range of animals from around the world. One of the highlights is the Giants of the Savanna exhibit, where you can see elephants, giraffes, and zebras up close in a beautiful, open setting. I also love the Wilds of Africa section, which has a fun monorail ride that offers a unique view of the animals. The zoo is very family-friendly, with plenty of activities for kids, but also engaging enough for adults to enjoy. It's a great way to spend the day outdoors and connect with wildlife.

Staff wonderful. Great zoo, clean and spacious. Animals appeared well cared for. Amazing access to the animals.
We ate in Serengeti Grill and were joined by a lion and lionesses up at the glass who were having a nice sleep - how amazing!
The only thing I think needs to improve and I have seen this in lots of reviews and I would agree is more signage. Was really difficult at times to find our way around. Really nice zoo and would recommend.

My fiance and I went for my birthday. It was really nice. The otter and the clouded leopard were our favorites. The otters were super playful, and the clouded leopard had the case of the zoomies.

We were pleasantly surprised by how big and well-run the Dallas Zoo is. We were able to conveniently purchase tickets and parking online, which streamlined parking and entrance into the zoo. The staff is very helpful and it was easy to find the exhibits that we were looking for.
It was really hot and humid when we came, so that did present some challenges on our visit. Thankfully, there are some air conditioned buildings (e.g. Gorilla exhibit, hippo exhibit, souvenir shop, etc.), where you can take a break from the heat.
Our 4 year-old grandson really enjoyed the animals, the face painting, and the merry-go-round. It is a great place for children to come learn about and appreciate animals.

The zoo is well-maintained, with clean facilities and plenty of shaded areas, making it a comfortable place to spend a day. We visited the zoo with our family. The zoo was well-kept, with a diverse range of animals. Feeding the giraffes was a highlight for the kids. The children's zoo was a fun area for the kids to play and cool off. My daughter got her face painted and was very happy.
We brought our own snacks and drinks, which is allowed. Food is pricey. Also, it can be a bit of a walk. You can spend 3-6 hours at the zoo depending on your pace and how much you explore. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit.

My wife and I spent a good few hours walking around Dallas Zoo. It is a great place to entertain children. They had a large Dinosaur display with sound effects. We bought City Pass tickets which also gave us the opportunity to do other tours. If you are looking for a family day out it is well worth a visit.

If you have young children I would do the Dallas Zoo. If older kids and adults do the Botanical gardens x Hope this helps you x
