We really do enjoy heading out to the gardens. It's such a relaxing way to enjoy an afternoon... the sculptures (depending upon the exibit), the plants, flowers, butterflies etc. In the spring/summer and in the fall, the Japanese garden is a must-see!

Went early on a Saturday. The gardens are beautiful. Well kept paths and walk ways. Plants are well maintained no weeds or dead plants seen. Plenty of benches around to sit and enjoy the scenery. The Japanese Garden is very nice with ponds full of koi fish that you can buy food to feed them. Restroom are in the Japanese gardens. There is also a small cafe close to the Japanese garden but we did not go in. The tropical rain forest is also very nice. Parking is free.

Beautiful park. A variety of different types of plants: section of Native Texas plants, Cactus garden, and Japanese Gardens complete with waterfalls and koi ponds. Bring a picnic and enjoy the setting.

Yesterday was my first visit to the FW Botanic Garden and I enjoyed it so much, I became a member. There are so many things to see beyond the beautiful plants and flowers, like waterfalls, fountains, sculptures and places to just sit and take it all in. Educational and/informational signs and displays along the paths, including some interactive for the kids (or me who enjoyed learning about the different bird calls or oldest tree!). And of course, hungry bright colored koi and turtles to feed (buy a $2 bag of special food at the ticket counter when you arrive). After spending a few hours walking along the paths and taking it all in, I decided to take advantage of a quiet spot on a bench and read for another hour. I can’t wait to return and further explore the grounds throughout the year.

Check out the memberships if you live in this area as it has a lot to offer beyond admission for a year. Depending on the different membership level (I selected the Partner level to include my family), which also includes reciprocal admission to 330+ gardens and arboreta across North America, invitation to member only hours and events, discounts and early registration for classes and a subscription to their newsletter and BH&G/Martha Stewart Living magazine.

Highly suggest being careful of others' reviews as they may have different expectations than yours. I read several posts before going for tips and other information and found some to be very helpful and others not. For example, some thought the traffic noise was distracting from their experience. This garden is located in a busy urban area which I personally think adds to the charm of creating a nice oasis amidst all the activity of a bustling city.

Every season is beautiful in the gardens. Love local artists that display their art throughout. Great place to purchase seasonal plants in the spring.

Much to explore and we got our money's worth (no longer free) even though we didn't have time to see everything. Highlights included the conservatory, native forest boardwalk, stick constructions, and the Japanese gardens. The temporary Lego exhibit was a bonus.

We enjoyed our walk through the gardens but enjoyed the Japanese gardens in the back the most. If you come to the Botanic Gardens plan to spend most of your time in the Japanese Gardens since they let you feed fish and turtles in that section (buy bags of food when you pay to get in since the don't offer food at the back of the garden). The Botanic Garden itself is nicely done but, as others have commented, traffic noise takes away from the overall experience. Also, the workers were shredding up wood pieces which was really loud and also took away from the experience. We though they could have had better signage - the garden is a little confusing on the first walk through and signs would have helped. Also, it would have been nice if they would have had an open restroom near the back. We also thought the parts of the garden was a little chopped up with roads separating the sections. It was a nice walk in the city - well worth coming as long as you aware that there will be some traffic noise.

Tripadvisor seriously needs a 3.5 (good) rating - that's what applies here. Positives: this fairly large, the Japanese garden is extensive and very serene with lots of water. Negatives: perhaps because it was June, there's not so much in flower; more lush than pretty. Nor is there much in the way of follies, either architectural (the pagoda structures are more for vista than of merit themselves, what initially looks to be an impressive façade, hinting at something more, looming over the rose garden is basically just that) or sculptural. Got turned around in the layout when it was time to leave and circled uselessly looking for path back to the exit - my fault. The main issue though was probably the garden's proximity to traffic. There's not a lot of serenity happening around the edges. It's reasonably priced for a wander, and if one times it better for blooms I'm sure I would be writing a different review.

We had a great time walking around as a couple, it was serene and beautiful. I do believe my kids would enjoy it as well so will return with them. I loved the option to feed the Koi fish!

My husband and I spent a Friday morning here walking around and really enjoyed it, despite the Texas heat. The garden is huge, and the water fountains are turned off due to COVID, so make sure to bring your own water. There are tons of beautiful displays with flowers, plants, trees, and even fish.
