This course has great bones; however, it needs more grass in fairways and tee boxes. The walk-up price for seniors would be slightly less than $30 (includes cart fee), so it is a reasonable price for course conditions. It should be noted the walk-up price is currently less than the GolfNow price. Many greens have poa ana grass growing currently, providing a less than desirable rolling surface. The smaller greens put a premium on approach shots. In its current condition I can’t recommend this one.

If it rains you out after only one hole played, they won’t give you a rain check. If there’s ANY chance of rain at all, they don’t issue them. Not a good policy for north Texas where storms develop out of the blue. A 10% chance of rain could mean sunny skies or tornados here.

Been receiving discounts in my inbox for a few months, but finally had a chance to play out here. This was once Oakridge Country Club, and there are still some remnants of those days go past (dilapidated pool area), but this is clearly a muni course, as evidenced by the denim on the group ahead of us. The course has a nice layout, though some holes are a little tighter than I’d prefer. Hole #3 was a nice par five with a creek that winds through it. Pick your clubs properly. Some other nice holes include #18, a par 4 that dares you to try your luck going for it over water rather than aiming right for the approach. If no one is behind you, take a free shot at it. The GPS on the carts are better than some of seen at pricier courses, and really helped on #3. For me, it wasn’t quite worth my drive (30 mins), but I’d be inclined to try it again when things are a little greener, and not as wet (had some big rains the day before we played; cart path only for most of the round). Potential, but needs a little more work.
