Beautiful course! What you see is what you get. You find course, nature, food. Great for celebrations or groups. A must visit.

Had a great time on a hot summer day. Course in great shape. New ownership goes out of their way to welcome you. Beautiful, challenging layout. Be sure to stop by their course cafe for one of the best hot dogs ever!

Course is in decent condition, very tight layout. Played a Saturday afternoon and it was nearly a 6 hour round. Just unacceptable. Also their grill closes at 5pm which is entirely way too early for a Saturday at a golf course.

Been here 6x in the past 2 years, and it seems to be slowly degrading (course wise). Very nice people running the place (snack shop, pro shop, cart garage) but in many places on the course the cart paths have not been maintained, some holes continue to have erosion problems and have worsened too.
We last played here in late June, saw many female deer with fawns. That's great scenery.
If you can find good deals to play here do so, but otherwise ...

A challenging and exciting track. Right along the Brazos River. Take an extra dozen balls for this tree lined, tight track with a few river shots to make. Just a short drive from Fort Worth out to Weatherford!

Played this course several times--always great, but this weekend, the course was in very good condition--trees are so nice, quite a bit of water & sand. Three par 5's on front nine made it a bit challenging, but there's lots of unique scenery, so it's still worth it. Course has a lot of doglegs & fairways are lined with nice homes. Staff very helpful & nice & you can get great green fee prices on foreup.com. Never been crowded & this was a holiday weekend.

Beautiful Tree lined course with multiple holes that require a right to left shot. Fairways were in good shape and greens putted true, but you had better be "Down the Middle Charlie" on every shot. No room for an errant slice.

A complete joy to play, definitely a shot makers course that requires strategy on where you hit the ball. It is a diamond in the rough and really could be an amazing course with the right love.

It's been a few since I last played this course. Could not believe the number of new homes around the course.
Now back to the review: as normal the greens were in great shape, the scenery was a pleasant(good change from the hustle/bustle of Dallas), sand traps were dry for most part, the only issue was the course was really wet with no/little rain in the area.
If you enjoy golf and have played this jewel, you need too

Played Sugartree late April 2017. Saturday rate with range balls was about 40 dollars. Turf conditions were good, pace of play was excellent, bunker conditions were average. Carts were " experienced ", but young man in shop told us new carts in two weeks. Only had limited contact with staff but all were hospitable. Course design and routing was interesting but not overwhelmingly memorable. I would not hesitate at all to return when in area again. Feel overall experience was a pleasant day of golf for a very reasonable fee.
