The Buddy Holley headstone is well marked and simple to find.His parents are also buried next to his grave. It's on the main road in. Quiet here with few visitors.

The map on the main page is deceiving. It took us to 2011 31st St, where the marker is, but actually the cemetery is on E 31st St. So a little detour, but we made it under the wire by entering the cemetery at 7:55. It closes at 8pm so we were a little nervous when the gates closed and we thought we were locked in, but they were automatic for opening to let us out. Anyways, it was an honor to see his gravesite and just remember him for his music and the impact he had on the music of that era even though he died so young. Some people mentioned the signage being tacky, but I was glad it was there so we could find it easily.

You can visit Buddy Holley’s Grace here. Yes that is the correct spelling. His name was misspelled Holly on his original recording contract and that spelling stuck but it’s spelled correctly on his grave. He is buried next to his parents. The grave is easy to find, just to the right when you enter the cemetery with a big sign pointing to the site.

This is not too far from the 'Buddy Holly' museum. It sort of completes a well rounded tour of all of this great singer/song writers life and death.

On a recent visit to Lubbock, we visited the grave site of Buddy Holly. The sign pointing to the marker is a bit "tacky" but the marker itself is unassuming. The group left guitar picks as a tribute to the man himself.

Visited Buddy's grave in 1978 to pay my forever respects to a rock n' roll icon...Now I have placed a memorial urn with roses on his grave...

Laying a Fender guitar pick on Buddy Holly's marker made me shiver. If you ask me when I'll forget this moment, I'd reply, "That'll Be The Day" that I die.

Very close to the cemetery entrance. If you are in Lubbock, and were a fan, I certainly recommend a visit to the grave site. Lot of interesting memorials and statuary if you wish to take a few extra minutes to drive through the cemetery.

All you see is a simple grave stone where Buddy Holley is buried; however if you are obsessed with Buddy Holley it is worth the trip. This is a city cemetery where your family members are buried. It is not grand in anyway.

Buddy Holley is buried next to family. When you enter the cemetery turn right. There is a wooden sign across the street from the marker. Very simple marker, where fans leave glasses and guitar picks.
