The day was overcast so perfect for picking strawberries! We arrived about 12:30 on Saturday the 30th so the early birds got the best of the pickings. We were undetered and managed to find 1/2 a box of small to medium stawberries. We had a 7 month old otherwise we would have stayed as they were going to open up the Field Trip side at 1:30pm. Nonetheless fed a nanny goat with twin kids, ate homemade strawberry ice cream and pop cycles ... so delicious ... and rode the Express Barrel Train.

I love this place. Today it smelled like sweet strawberries. Talk about sunflowers!! Oh my!!! Blooms for days! We will definitely come back.

It's a fun outing and some decent strawberries. We lived in SoCal and in Carlsbad, they have the most amazing strawberry field anywhere in the world. We are missing our freshly picked strawberries so I did a search and who would guessed there is a strawberry field about 15 minutes from us!
Friend Tip: bring plastic garbage bags and a change of shoes. And wear some boots with some traction to them. Otherwise, you are liking to find yourself on your backside in a pile of thick mud. Fortunately, we were prepared so it wasn't an issue. Just took the shoes off, threw them in a plastic bag and placed in our trunk along with the freshly picked strawberries.
We arrived when they first opened and the parking is in a dirt lot but it's dry. You are given a box with a handle to go and start picking and you pay at the end when they weigh out your collection.
The fields are quite big... but pickings were slim. Maybe there were bigger, plump strawberries last month but right now it's mostly tiny berries that haven't ripened. Because I had boots on and didn't mind them getting muddy, I went to areas that it seemed others avoided and was able to find more of the bigger ripe berries. There are lots of weeds and the berries just seem to be largely unattended. They also have some fields where you can cut fresh flowers.
For even the berries we did pick, they are nice tasting, but not the best strawberries. They are kind of soft and not very firm. And of the berries we did find that were of an average size, they seem to split open. We did pick flowers but they are fairly small stemmed flowers and really don't look like anything special. They charge for every "bud" and we ended up paying $10 for a bunch of flowers that look much like the wild flowers growing in our backyard.
They have a lot of activities for kids and it seems like a fun family event. But if you are here just for some quality strawberries, you are not likely to get them. Next year we will try coming at the beginning of the season to see if they are bigger/fresher. But if you ever have a chance to visit the strawberry fields in Carlsbad, CA you will have the most amazing strawberries ever in your life.

We came here with myself, my husband, daughter and three grandkids so 6 in total. The first odd thing that put me in a bad mood was the lady at the front where we stopped to get baskets for picking the strawberries. I asked for two baskets. She was very unfriendly and said well, do you need two because they cost 22 dollars when full. She also said, I'm not giving out kids baskets today. I didn't ask for any so why are you being so grumpy to me, I wonder. I'm paying for the baskets and the berries so why are you questioning how many I need was my thought but I tried to be patient and explained there are 6 of us so yes. She never once questioned the white man behind us all by himself when he asked for two baskets. Odd! I didn't see anyone question her when, at closing she took two baskets to the field all by herself to obviously pick her own personal baskets.The lady at the bounce hill which we paid for would not allow our two year old and four year old to jump on the same bounce hill but said sure, they're sisters to the white mom. She also talked loudly about things children should not hear as she talked with the other parents. We paid over 3 dollars a lb. to pick your berries for you. HEB is cheaper but it's the experience of being at the farm that we wanted our kids to have so I gladly paid. The strawberries were small and not sweet at all but I would have been fine with that and the high cost if the staff at this farm were more professional and more accepting of people of color. We won't be back.

This is a great farm. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Great directions to find the farm. I love this farm and I will highly recommend this farm. I picked strawberries here I love their strawberries.

Beautiful farm. Cute goats. We come every year to pick our own bouquets and the flowers last a week or so. I love it. The fields are well managed. They give you a plastic vase and scissors to cut your own flowers.

We had so much fun here on the farm! We took a fall trip to the farm to pick pumpkins, and I was very impressed with how many activities that were enjoyable for adults as well as children. Everything about this experience was amazing, from the delicious ice cream to the challenging cornfield mazes to all of the kind workers. You can tell every part of the farm was really well made. There are signs everywhere and very clear directions on everything, and it just feels like such a welcoming place. I can’t wait to come back during the spring to pick strawberries!

Timing is everything! We went at the end of the strawberry season and there were very few left and those that were more small. But that’s just a testament to how popular this place is! With all the extras in activities for little ones, it is definitely someplace I will go back to.

I know this place is for picking strawberries, but there are plenty of arts and crafts, rides and animals to pet for the kids. You can also get ice cream popcycles and milkshakes. A fun place, but it can get quite warm when it is sunny out, so prepare for that as well.

I have a disability and the people saw his vest and still were verbally aggressive against me for trying to enjoy their establishment. I said he was clearly a service dog and they said they didnt care and that i needed to leave because i was disrupting even though i was calmly speaking and they were in my face yelling at me. I left after that. Would never recommend this place for people with disabilities, though their behavior makes me never want to tell anyone to visit. Its a shame because i live out of state and heard this place was lovely.
