Zeer betrokken vrijwilligers die je een rondleiding en uitleg geven. Het is een zeer klein ziekenhuis en revalidatiecentrum voor zeeschildpadden. Er staan een paar bakken met water waarin 1 schildpad zit.
Het is gratis, duurt max 30 minuten en je kunt eventueel wat doneren voor het goede doel.

Η προσπάθεια είναι πραγματικά αξιόλογη και το προσωπικό ιδιαιτέρως φιλικό αλλά ο χώρος είναι πολύ φτωχός και δείχνει παρατημένος. Σίγουρα θα πρέπει να αξιοποιηθεί περισσότερο όσον αφορά το κομμάτι των επισκέψεων / ξεναγήσεων για να είναι πιο ελκυστικό για τα παιδιά. Μπράβο . ωστόσο, για την αγάπη και την αφοσίωση που δίνεται στα ζωάκια αυτά .

Была с 9-летним сыном, очень понравилась экскурсия. Парень-волонтер очень интересно рассказывал. Видно, что ребята относятся к своему делу с огромным энтузиазмом и вкладывают душу. На выходе можно купить сувениры, чтобы поддержать черепашек, или просто оставить пожертвование.

Living in a country surrounded by water and sea creatures, this place gave me and my kids the oppurtinity to care and respect sea life more!
It is actually a hospital for wounded sea turtles found in Greece, which helps them recover and then releases them back in the sea. Volunteers give you ar brief tour, free of charge. Small groups go in every 15 minutes. You must be quiet, because all the turtles are "sick" and need to feel relaxation. There were 40 turtles in the Rescue Center. If you want to help, buy a souvenir, or ...adopt a turtle. I strongly suggest a visit (it s an open air facility), especially for kids. Spent 30 minutes of your lives for these injured beauties.

People there seem to care a lot about the turtles. it was interesting finding out more things about the turtles, even if the visit was short

What an amazing job these volunteers do . We had an English speaking guide called Alicia . She was dedicated and it was an absolute joy to be shown everything they do .Please visit this sanctuary . I’m so glad we did .

Thank you for your visit and your kind words. The Rescue Centre was at risk last March due to international travel restrictions but a few dedicated volunteers decided to extend their stay until other people would be able to arrive. If you are in Athens, come again!

Small NGO with the biggest heart ever. Wonderful volunteer who was passionate and knowledgeable gave us a detailed tour in which she answered many questions patiently. We forgot to ask her name but she WILL be a terrific vet one day! If you have the opportunity to visit, please go and spend money in the gift shop—we found a tshirt, key chain and necklaces that we were more than happy to buy to support this noble organization —-please keep up the great work!

Excellent experience. Visited with a five year old.
Really enjoyed a 45 minute private tour with one of the volunteers. She described the work of the Turtle Rescue Centre and opened the viewing area of the Green House where the injured turtles are treated in individual tanks. We had a clear view of two turtles, one had lost a part of its shell when hit by a fishing boat. The Centre were inserting weights to its back to restore its balance and ability to swim. Indoors we saw an X-ray of a turtle with a fishing hook lodged in its throat and many jars containing plastic that was surgically removed from rescued turtles . We also saw a jar displaying turtle eggs. We learnt about the turtle ‘s life cycle. It was very educational and child friendly, all our five year old’s questions were answered.We can’t wait to return in the summer when the turtles will be outside in bigger tanks.

Τα τελευταία 2 χρόνια έχουμε επισκεφτεί το Κέντρο Προστασίας Θαλάσσιας Χελώνας 3-4 φορές με τον γιο μας (4,5 χρ.) και διαφορετικούς φίλους με παιδιά κάθε φορά.
Και για τους μεγάλους και για τα παιδιά είναι μια πραγματικά μοναδική εμπειρία.
Είναι αξιοσημείωτη τη προσπάθεια που γίνεται από όλους στο κέντρο.
Τελευταία το επισκεφτήκαμε τον Σεπτέμβρη ή Οκτώβρη που είχε διάφορες εκδηλώσεις για τα παιδιά και θεατρικό της ομάδας εθελοντών για τις χελώνες.
Δεν υπάρχει εισιτήριο, αλλά υπάρχουν άλλοι τρόποι υποστήριξης (βιβλία και δωράκια για παιδιά κλπ).
Όλοι ακούμε και διαβάζουμε τι γίνεται, αλλά όταν το βλέπεις από κοντά το αντιλαμβάνεσαι διαφορετικά και πιο έντονα. Συγκλονιστικό θέαμα να βλέπεις μια τεράστια χελώνα με κομμένο το ένα μπροστινό πτερύγιο να προσπαθεί να κολυμπήσει, όπως και τα βαζάκια με τα αντικείμενα που κατά καιρούς έχουν αφαιρεθεί από τις χελώνες.
Θα συνεχίσουμε να επισκεπτόμαστε το κέντρο και να το υποστηρίζουμε όπως μπορούμε και να ευαισθητοποιούμε τα παιδιά μας για διάφορα θέματα, τώρα που είναι μικρά.
Καλή συνέχεια.
Και για τους μεγάλους και για τα παιδιά είναι μια πραγματικά μοναδική εμπειρία.

Do the private tours cost 50€ per person or per group?
Private tours can only be booked on line with a donation of 50€ for each group (each group can be 1-8 persons & children under 4 are not accounted for).

The visiting hours are now clearly shown. There are valid until September 15th. There is now the possibility to book a private tour for a group (1-8 persons, children under 4 not accounted for) with a donation of 50€ per group, outside these admission free visiting hours.

Thank you for asking. The Rescue Center and all other ARCHELON projects are now responding in one Facebook page. Just google ARCHELON and you will get there.

Если не ошибаюсь, мы добирались на пятом трамвае прямо от площади Синтагма и до нужной остновки, но ехать довольно долго. Возможно быстрее доехать на метро до побережья и уже там пересеть на трамвай.

Where would you be coming from? The centre is located by the beach on the 3rd Marina in Glyfada. It is just past where the tram lines are therefore it can be easily reached by tram if you were coming from Athens by getting the train towards Voula and getting off at the plateus Glyfada stop. You would then simply walk towards the marina until you can see the train wagons in the distance.
