This replica of the historic ship that sailed to/from Jamestown VA settlement has incurred significant deterioration and is in need of restoration. It appears they are working on this but it also appears there hasn't been a lot of progress! It's worth a visit but bone up on its history as it is quite interesting.

The one Bermuda tourism booklet I had stated Deliverance is open daily. It was not open on Monday, December 30th at noon. We were sad to not go on board. A note: many shops and restaurants were not open on Monday in St. George's.

The Deliverance is a small ship made to help tell the story of the founding of Bermuda and the way that history intersects with the history of the United States. There are panels of information but out and inside the ship which tell the story of the passengers who found themselves stranded on Bermuda on their way to the Jamestown colony on the US mainland. The ship itself is not particularly remarkable but still interesting to look at. Worth a short visit.

Deliverance jest repliką jednego z dwóch statków wybudowanych i eksploatowanych przez pierwszych mieszkańców. Ładnie wykonany i wart odwiedzin. Polecam.

Went there with 3 other adults and 2 teens after a jet ski tour on a Friday morning as it was literally right next to the main plaza where our tour was ending. At our surprise it was open - for several years every time we went by it was closed, but not anymore. The exhibits were interesting but a bit cheap overall. Took us 15 minutes to tour everything and we’ve enjoyed it, but it’s probably not worth the detour if you’re not already in the area.

This is a full size replica of the ship that transited the Atlantic in 1620 with 150 people aboard!! They must have been stacked 3 deep!! The ship sits on Ordinance Island in St. George Harbor next to King's Square. Kids enjoy exploring it.

It is worth mentioning that there is no entrance fee but rather you choose on how much you would like to donate to run this operation - the gentleman at the booth was very nice and well informed about various facts regarding Deliverance and Bermuda.
I was not too excited about coming here but actually really enjoyed the entire experience - you get on the boat which is I believe scale 2:1 to actual size replica - pretty crazy how many people were on original Deliverance at a time...
TIP: It makes an absolute sense to visit this place while you visit St. George which is not too much around except for multiple gift shops and restaurants and much more laid back atmosphere than the rest of the island... it feels like life in St. George runs slower than on the rest of Bermuda

The Deliverance is a reconstruction of the ship by which Somers (who some say was the first Bermuda governor) and his men completed their journey to Jamestown of Virginia in 1610. Jamestown was such a shambles at the time that Somers returned to Bermuda in a sister ship.
A pretty small boat for a great ocean journey.
Unfortunately as of April 2018, the site was under renovation limiting access and photography opportunities.

This island has so much history you could spend hours and be in amazement. The view of this ship is so interesting to think of the people who endured this trip and the circumstances in which they actually survived. In reality, it makes one think of their circumstances and how absolutely blessed we are to live in this era.

Girando per St. George si va a vedere per curiosità anche la riproduzione della nave Deliverance, situata alle spalle di King Square. L'imbarcazione è nota per l'infausto destino che vide protagonista l'ammiraglio Sir George Somers e il suo equipaggio nel 1609. Rimasti bloccati a Bermuda dopo che la loro nave Sea Venture andò a infrangersi contro la barriera corallina durante una tempesta, fu proprio la Deliverance una delle due navi che trasportarono i pochi sopravvissuti della Sea Venture fino alla Virginia. Peccato fosse chiusa durante la nostra visita, quindi più che una foto non si è potuto fare.
