We stopped at the park and basically it is a statue of a coal miner and a plaque. Also an old hotel tile sign, which appeared to be quite the place in its day. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

Nice little park to just take some time to yourself & enjoy .... Sit & have a coffee or come during Christmas as it is decorated so nice !!!!!

It is a good place to go and it does not take long but it is interesting for all ages and you will learn a lot about mining.

The park is very. very small and is located on the corner of Wood Ave and East 5th St. It has a stage that offers live music for holiday events. There are a few benches to sit on and that about sums it up.

I guess it's a big thing in BSG--but it's just a piece of grass people! Might as well have a tribute to Elizabeth Taylor at the KFC since she almost choked on a piece of chicken there.

Virginia City is a tourist trap where almost everything costs something. In order to lower our costs & to save time for sightseeing, we planned to have a picnic lunch & were delighted with this location. The park is 1 of the few green spots in town. The local swimming pool was adjacent & the place was filled with children running around & families having fun. There were a number of picnic tables with benches and lots of trees to provide shade. We had no trouble finding street parking. It was a pleasant respite. We didn't see any public bathrooms at the park, but knew they were available at the Welcome Center only a couple blocks away.
