Never in a million years I would’ve thought I’d go to a spa like this, but I’m glad I did. It was so relaxing. The facility was clean and well organized. Food was great! I see why people spend hours in this place. I wish I had the opportunity to do the full body scrub, but it was booked. I plan to find one in my area so I can go as needed. I visited, out of town for a friend’s birthday.

I had read about Spa World before I went but had no idea how amazing the experience would be. First of all, the place is HUGE! The men’s wet area has a beautiful bade pool and several smaller pools of various temperatures, all with digital displays showing their temps. The steam room and dry sauna are large and also have temperature indicators on the outside. I had a Korean scrub and massage and was surprised at how much dead skin was scrubbed off. If you’re in DC, a visit here is a must do!

Spa World is a genuine Korean Jimjilbang. The experience is what you would expect at a large communal Korean spa.

It is located in a large strip mall with tons of parking. The whole facility was very clean and the staff maintained the facilities very well. Upon entry, you check in at the desk and deposit your shoes in a locker. The locker key is now your key and purchasing fob for the rest of your stay in the spa. Theres no need to carry a wallet around. You pay when you leave and they scan the fob and tally all the purchased items like food, massages, body scrubs, etc.

After getting through the check in process, you are handed a pair of spa branded shorts and t shirt. The next area is segregated by gender. The locker rooms are directly connected to the wet bathing areas and they are nude mandatory. There are lockers that correspond to your key fob in the changing areas for your clothes.

The wet areas consists of a large bade pool, multiple showers in the periphery (both standing and sitting), a small napping area, multiple large hot tubs in different temperatures as well as cold plunge. A dry sauna, a wet sauna, and a cold shower. The bade pool has numerous hydrotherapy jets in different configurations throughout the large pool.

In the locker area, there are restrooms and water. You can also purchase drinks, grooming goods there. There is also a small lounge area with a TV as well. This is also where you would book your body scrubs. The body scrubs are done in the wet bathing area in a semi-private corner. The body scrubs are your traditional korean body scrubs. Its always amazing how much dead skin gets removed.

The next area is clothing mandatory. That is why they provide the shirt and shorts. This area is not segregated by gender and both locker rooms access the same area. The communal area has a large open floor where there are many pads and pillows for people to lounge. There are also several dry sauna rooms and an ice room. At one end of the communal area is a large juice/snack bar. There is also a restaurant next to that.

The restaurant serves traditional korean fare which is all really good. The food is a little pricey but not exhorbitant. The only strange thing is that you have to order your drinks outside at the juice bar, you cant order them when you order your food in the restaurant.

The massage areas are upstairs of the communal area, as well as the small gym.

We went there to enjoy the day and relax. The wet areas are really nice except for the gender segregation. It would be nice to have a communal wet area. It is always annoying when you only get to spend part of the time with people you go to the spa with. The wet areas were not overly crowded but we were there on a weekday. Weekends may be a different story.

Overall, we had a relaxing time at Spa World. The only things that we would change are the gender segregation rules and to drop the clothing mandatory areas. The wet areas could be even bigger and varied if they werent segregated and its not really that enticing to use the dry communal saunas in clothes, even if they are just a shirt and shorts. Plus it would be nice to be with the people you go to the spa with for the entire experience.

Relaxing traditional Korean jimjilbang. Alternate between dry sauna and cool pool a few times for deep relaxation. Food in the cafe is a little pricey but delicious, especially the eel.

Like most similar facilities around the world, you’re not allowed to wear anything in the (gender-separated) wet areas. Don’t go if you’re super body shy.

These fools wasted my Sunday afternoon. I will never spend another penny with them. I have been to spa world at least 50 time but never again. These people are freaking idiots!!!

This place is run by freaking idiots. All during COVID I went here and the main bade pool was out of order (the bade pool is 70% of the attraction). At times, in addition to the bade pool being broken, so were two of the six side spa pools. Finally, I quit going because they wouldn’t repair the equipment.

Today, I checked their website and it said the bade pool was working again so I drove the 45 minutes it takes me to get there. This time I find that, unlike during COVID, now face masks are required!!! For everyone!!. Vaccinated or natural immunity? Doesn’t matter. These people are pathetic and ignorant. I’m not wasting any more time or money with them.

My girlfriend and I went to Spa World for a fun girls day. We took advantage of most of the offerings. They have a small gym which we used and were the only guests using the equipment. The large women's only pool was the best part of the visit. Note - you can't be shy as everyone is in the nude. The most disappointment were the massages - these were by far the worst I've ever had. We had lunch in the little Asian café and the food was good, but nothing special. The individual salt rooms were interesting. Over all it was an enjoyable day. Not sure I'd go back, but well worth a try.

Best value for up to 12 hours of chilling ... $42/pp!! Apparently, Groupons are available?!
Saunas, pools, body scrubs, oh my! Foot massages too. Scrubs and massages have an extra fee. Saunas (dry room), juice bar, and dining are co-ed. Pools & steam (“wet rooms”) and locker rooms are single sex.

My experience was GREAT! We planned a Ladies Birthday weekend that everyone loved. I would advise you to go early to set your appointment and have time to visit all areas if crowds bother you. The food was good and they seemed to provide something for everyone. I wish I lived closer to go more often.

If you come here on a holiday or weekend lookimg to relax, thats not gonna happen. You will spend nearly all of your time competeing for space. Large groups often come in and monopoloize everything. Not easy to relax when the entire Washington Redskins come in shouting and carrying on. Today, the bade pool and all three tubs were well over the max occupancy. I literally saw 12 people squeezed into a tub that is only supposed to hold five. Both the sauna and steam room were standing room only. The bade pool was so packed that a line started forming just to get into it, much less find an empty space. People were sitting on the steps. The attendant saw all this and did absolultely nothing. They also ran out of towels several times. I cant wait until the new King Spa opens. Spa World is just too small to accommodate all the people that go there and it makes for a not so good experience.

Starting the new year with a soak & scrub with friends seemed like a good way to set intentions for the year. Unfortunately,it appeared that most of DC had the same idea. It felt & looked more like Disney World than Spa World! Every space was insanely crowded to the point that it was not relaxing at all. Moreover, although we arrived just before noon we could not get a scrub as the next available appointment was at 8 PM!

How I wish they took reservations! Alas, I guess I am in the market for a new Korean spa!
