This is a U.S. military veteran owner nano brewery. A nano brewery brews is small batches. They carry a handful of beers once and the beers may change quickly (a positive of a nano brewery).
C'ville-ian doesn't serve food, but I suspect you can bring in something if you'd like. They do occasionally have music. Overall, I think it is a good place to hang out with friends over a beer (or two).
C'ville-ian is on West Main Street, which does not naturally flow from East Main Street. You might need to consult a map or a person, or use GPS.

Although the place was small and they do not offer food ( order from Dooma next door ), we enjoyed our visit here. Beer was of good quality and the brewery has hopes of putting out better beers in the future. There is live music on Sat and an entertaining bartender . Stop in-don't pass it by!

Beers are ok, but do not match the quality of beers in the area. Limited space but does not feel cozy, can't figure this place out.

We were in town for one night, which happened to be Super Bowl Sunday. For some unfathomable reason, little seemed to be open and nobody was out. Walking by C'Ville-Ian, we saw that the lights were on and the taps were running. The bar tender was exceptionally nice. She was helpful with beer recommendations. I'm not much for beer, myself, but my girlfriend is a connoisseur. Even I liked what we got. The place had great atmosphere and unique beer. What else do you need? Well, I do like bar food, and this place doesn't have food at all. Still, a great little place to grab a drink when you're walking through town.

Went in for a pint, was sorely disappointed.
Pros:
- good location
- no line at the bar
Cons:
- very limited selection (only had 2 beers on tap)
- beers tasted terrible (both had strong metallic after taste), couldn't finish my pint
- lame atmosphere
I brew my own beer (and not very well) and can easily say I make better beer than this place. Won't be back.

Stopped in here because we were walking down the street. I'm glad we did. These guys have a great sense of humor and good beer. It would be easy to spend the day in there hanging out. Definitely add this place to your "must stop" breweries.

We spent the evening here the day after Christmas. It wasn't crowded and the owner was behind the bar. He spent a long time talking with us and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here.
He had four beers on tap, I think - a Porter, C’Ville on the Rye’z IPA, a Pale ale and a Blonde. All were very tasty, though the Porter was my favorite. He has lots of interesting brews in the pipeline, so the line-up seems to change frequently.
My only complaint is that the beer list is out-of-date on the Web site and not available on Facebook. These are easy things to keep updated and should be so - it's the best way to showcase your stuff!
We'll definitely be regulars at this brew pub.

I discovered this spot as I was walking from my hotel on the downtown mall to the corner. It appeared to be warm and welcoming, and I decided to try it. The space itself is quite attractive; it resembles a small gallery with wooden floors and brick walls. It was early, and I was the only customer. I had a nice conversation with the very friendly owner. I tried the IPA, and it was very good.
I plan to return to this brewery on my next visit to Charlottesville.

What a great find! We stumbled upon this place while walking down Main Street and we weren't disappointed. Small batch brews, 5 different varieties, every one was great. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about their craft, and took their time with every visitor while we there to explain the brews, from the process to the taste to the specifics of the beer themselves. The place doesn't look like much - it's small and very basic on the inside, but the seats are comfortable and you're not rushed. Check it out for good small craft beer in downtown C'ville!

Charlottesville's newest, and smallest brewery, is located pretty much opposite the Amtrak station, just between the Downtown Mall and the University. The bar space itself is pretty nice, somewhat spartan, as all the best pubs in my experience tend to me. The service was reasonable, though given that my party was the only crowd in there on a Friday afternoon, that is to be expected, when we left just before 6 it was empty. I am not going to review the beer here, suffice to say that if the brewer wants to make a go of being a brewery then the quality of the beer must improve dramatically. There is a massive difference between inconsistency from batch to batch and downright poorly made beer, especially disappointing given the excellent brewers already in the Charlottesville area. There is a wealth of potential here, but as the highlight of a brewery is the beer, they need to work on that as a matter of urgency, especially if they want to justify $7 for a flight of 5 samples.
