Wow! My husband and I had a great time on our kayak tour of Assateague through Assateague Outfitters. Making the reservation was easy and affordable (even a portion of the proceeds goes to charity)! The staff were friendly up on arrival. Our tour guides were personable and knowledgeable on the animals, history of the island, and kayaking (shout out to Chris and Shawn!). They took the time to answer questions and show us as many animals as possible. The tour was also extremely kid friendly. I cannot speak highly enough of this company and the experience.

2h bike rental. We went around the island (about 10miles in all). Option to add a cart to the front of the bike for free (recommended). It was a great experience. Beautiful landscape. We saw several horses during our hike. We went to the beach (US$5/person). However, we did not see horses on the beach. There were probably too many people. Everything was perfect.

This trip was amazing! It was a small group of 6, and we learned a lot about the history of the island, and the wildlife. My 10 year old daughter loved it! We saw a lot of wild horses. I highly recommend this expedition.

I took my 10 and 12 year old great nephew and niece. We enjoyed the tour. Not only was it peaceful and relaxing, it was quite educational.

The rental process and pick up/return was super easy. The gentleman who helped us was humorous and informative. There was a designated riding path that was completely paved. Other than the bridge, which was uphill, the path was flat.
Seeing the park and horses on bikes was amazing. There was very little “traffic” on the path. We were able to see plenty of horses as we were able to stop frequently as we pleased. Probably one of my favorite things we did on this trip!

A great way to see the Assategue island National seashore and wildlife.
Ride over the bridge in to the island with beautiful scenery on both sides and horses resting /walking .

Amazing views! The staff was also so friendly, impressed at how kind & helpful they were. Water only up to 4ft deep so easy to take a dip if you are paddle boarding.

This was a wonderful experience! Its an easy and beautiful tour. The guides were so knowledgeable about the area, birds and wildlife. We were able to jump in the shallow waters to dig to find clams and blue crabs, and participate in a fishing net demonstration. There were families with children on the tour, and the kids were so engaged. I can't wait to come back and explore the area again!

The staff and crew of Assateague Outfitters is friendly, professional and knowledgeable of the area. Our family of 6 enjoyed the entire experience from learning the correct paddle techniques before getting into the water to learning about the diverse wildlife as we kayaked and explored. We even caught some crabs and learned all about them. It was an enjoyable experience and followed up with lunch at the 5 Tides made for a perfect day. We will come again!

Are there showers or changing rooms anywhere on or near prosperity?

There is a public restroom at this location. Showers are located at beach parking lots near by. Hope this helps.

Wondering what is best to see ponies and other interesting wildlife and sights. Should we rent kayaks and go our own or do the guided tour? If tour, can you give an overview and how much paddling is typically in wind or waves.
