Maps along the trail could be better for we missed a turn.Alsobeware of the maps crossovers and junctions.It is hard to tell them apart.
My wife rode her mobility scooter through several puddles while I rode a rented bike.
We were lucky because it began raining after the ride on a Monday around lunchtime
It was a nice ride but I was wobbly on the bike at slow speeds.I had not ridden a bike in ages and I am 71 years old. Mostly level riding except for the ramps at the ends of the trestle bridge.
Had a nice time with good views!

Nice place for a walk or run. Seem to be well maintained. We felt safe the days we went running there.

This is a quiet oasis in the city. My family and I love coming here and seeing the wildlife and river, the Osprey have been using this spot as a nesting site for almost five years and otters can sometimes be seen too!
Great for biking, hiking, walking and picnics.

We biked 5 miles of the "main" part of the trail on the north side of the river and then crossed the bridge to the south. Enjoyed seeing some of the old historical mills and dams, etc. We biked on a Sunday afternoon, and there were a number of bikers, pedestrians, and even a guy riding a horse, but the trail didn't seem too crowded and offered nice views!

Good bike ride along the Dan River. Good exercise. Pretty extensive trail system. It's paved and the scenery and views are nice.

I've been several times and I love it. Well maintained and that is saying a lot as there is often damage from storms and high water. They've done a beautiful job with it!

Nice, well maintained, mostly flat, shaded trail along the Dan River. Excellent place for a walk, run, or bike. Bridge from downtown across the river is very scenic. There is a dog park and the trail is also good for walking your dog on a leash.

We walked both sides of the Riverwalk. It was nicely shaded along the downtown path with some pretty picture spots. We later walked from the Holiday Inn Express where we were staying to other parts of the city.

We decided to take a little hike and get some exercise while staying in the area from out of town. This walk is very long if you walk the whole thing, passing through communities and different industrial areas, as well as a few parks. There is a little place to workout and a nice paved path for walking or jogging. Most of the trails follow the river and are very pretty, passing a couple of dams and foot bridges along the way. The whole walk is very peaceful, even though in the heart of the city. We even found deer tracks along the way, and several birds and turtles. Very nice walk!

How can the city of Danville say they’ve spent over a million dollars since the flood last and that was just cleaning up, fix the bridges with some of that money

We usually park at the small public lot off of Main St near the JTI Fountain/ Bridge St and Lou’s Antiques. Delishi is just a short walk away for a nice treat too.

Where's the best place to park for this? Also... is there one section that is best? We have young children and could only pick a section to begin with.

Parking is available at the community market which is midway thru the river walk
Also parking is available Behind biscuitville on riverside drive which is at one end of trail
Another area is at anglers park which is the beginning of the trail at the far end of trail
Several other off street parking areas along the trail including at the new ymca facility
