Our experience at Kings Dominion was frustrating and disappointing. My family and I paid $342 for tickets and a snack plan, expecting to enjoy a variety of snack options. However, several places listed on the app and kiosks as part of the snack plan—like Dippin' Dots and Auntie Anne's—weren't actually covered. This misinformation led to disappointment and wasted time as we had to figure out what was included. To make matters worse, we waited over two hours at Juke Box due to extreme understaffing.
I contacted customer service and spoke with a manager, Raquel, who told me an $86 refund had been issued by her employee, Sarah Bouldin. But Raquel then claimed refunds weren’t supposed to be offered at all, leaving us confused and feeling misled. Kings Dominion's lack of organization and poor communication were incredibly frustrating. I’m still waiting for a full refund and would not recommend this park if you expect clear information and smooth service.

I purchased gold season passes for the family and never regretted it more than after the first visit. The park is dirty and filled with gangs that infest the water park. The water park closes for the day at the first sign of rain. The rides are mediocre if they are running. Don't stay after the sun sets because of random violence and all of the food venues close at 6pm. You are better off going to CiCi's pizza and the mall. It will cost you less and you won't have to make it up to your disappointed family.

Halloween Haunt nights. Not what I expected. All haunts were predictable and has a new visitor to this event I found it very difficult to navigate with the app. Staff was short handed on every vendor making us late for some events.. Over priced drinks and parking. I would not be returning or recommending this event

I have grown up and taken my children here for years. I am talking from the 1980s to the present. I have adult children and younger ones, too. I even worked here in the summer of 1995. I met my late husband. Who works here, too? So many great memories! We have had season passes and frequently visit the park. This year, I am highly disappointed with the amount line breakers and staff that do nothing. There are no indoor shows anymore; live shows are few and far between. Yesterday, we and many other guests could not understand why the water park was closed on a hot summer day. I saw and spoke with many other guests who were all ready for the water park. I was told by staff it is open on weekends. They were cleaning and preparing for the Labor Day shutting down. If that is the case, then why be open on weekends? Isn't that double work? I think security checking bags should mention that the water park is closed, or there should have been considerable big signs in front of the park telling guests that they are sorry for the inconvenience, but the water park is closed. It was mentioned on the website and app. But in preparation for the day, not everyone goes to the site to see crazy changes. A discount should be added to daily tickets because you cannot offer the water park. Season passes give some consolation gift. For example, bring an extra friend ticket or something. I would have got a wagon for my two 6y/o and 7y/o to sit in. But I also had to rent a double stroller and lug around a pool bag. Also, several restaurants were closed. The Prestige Pass parking needs better-marked arrows and directions. Then, the fact that you must hike to security is dumb. Use the exit area next to prestige parking for those guests who want to enter Park. The park is losing the unique energy vibe it once had.

This was my first trip to Kings Dominion. I ordered tickets through a third party which included parking. Parking alone there was if I recall $30. The rides were incredible though I had an issue with one ride (can’t remember the name) where the harness would not lock. Eventually I got off as the attendant was no help. Drinks and food was very expensive there. Bring your own. The water park was closed on the day we went.

We went after 4:30 and had a great time. The weather was perfect and not too crowded on a Sunday night. Only Flight of Fear had a long, 45-minute, wait. My daughters went on about 7 rides, but our favorite was Project 305. I love Nitro in NJ, but this ride is bigger and much faster. It is worth the drive just for this coaster. My 15-year-old twin daughters also love...Build a Bear—anything to keep them entertained.

A friend and I included this park on our coaster trip this year. We both have been to this park many times, and it always delivers. The rides were in good condition; employees were generally friendly; and the food was decent. The water park is included with admission, so patrons can get the best of both worlds (dry and wet attractions).

Dear Kings Dominion Management Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my significant concerns following a recent visit to Kings Dominion and its water park. We had opted for Kings Dominion over Busch Gardens due to better pricing and shade availability, but our experience was unfortunately marred by a series of troubling interactions with your staff that I believe warrant your immediate attention.
During our visit, my wife became separated from us. After an exhaustive search lasting approximately 45 minutes, I sought assistance from one of your employees, who directed me to a security officer named John. My experience with Officer John was extremely disappointing for the following reasons:
Unprofessional Behavior: When I explained the situation, John’s response was dismissive. He inquired about my wife’s age and suggested that as an adult, she would be able to find her way back. When I proposed contacting the police to ensure a thorough search, John laughed at my concerns and dismissed the idea, which was deeply distressing given my background as a veteran with PTSD.
Inadequate Knowledge of SOP: I asked John about the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for handling a missing person, including children. His response, “Look for them?” demonstrated a troubling lack of understanding of his role and the procedures required in such situations.
Improper Handling of Personal Property: Furthermore, I was alarmed to find that Security Officer John was in possession of my car keys and house keys. It is unacceptable for a security officer to handle such personal belongings, and this oversight caused me additional concern during an already stressful situation.
Inappropriate Interaction with My Daughter: While waiting for the supervisor, I observed John questioning my 8-year-old daughter about her mother, despite my explicit request that he not speak with the children and that I would handle the situation. This action was not only unprofessional but also a breach of my request to manage the situation myself.
On a positive note, I would like to commend the professionalism of the supervisor who arrived to address the situation and the additional security officer named Moody. Both individuals were extremely respectful, helpful, and demonstrated a high level of professionalism. Their assistance was greatly appreciated, and I believe they should be acknowledged for their effective handling of the situation.
I am willing to retain the tickets for my children’s enjoyment, but I strongly urge that measures be taken to address the issues with Officer John. Specifically, I recommend that he receive additional training to improve his ability to manage missing person situations and adhere to proper procedures.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to hear from you soon regarding the steps that will be taken to address these concerns and ensure a better experience for future visitors.

Purchased park tickets online the night before we visited. Paid about $44 per person for a Saturday visit plus we decided to pay an additional $55 per person for the Fast Lane Option. The website said that they only sell a limited number of Fast Lane tickets so we thought this investment would help us save a lot of time at the park....Wrong! Throughout the morning, the Fast Lane wasn't at all faster than the regular line. It was not until the evening did some of the lines get long enough for us to save maybe five minutes by using Fast Lane. So, suggest avoid the Fast Lane upsell.
The food is also horribly overpriced. $17 for a single slice of cheese pizza!! Horrible!
The park is poorly maintained. Bathrooms were not well cleaned and several of the rides would periodically close throughout the day. Twice we waited in line for rides only for them to shut down as soon as we got to the front of the line.
On the flip side, the thrill rides were top notch. The park is worth going to, but avoid the upsell of the Fast Lane and eat ahead of time.
The food is also horribly overpriced. $17 for a single slice of cheese pizza!! Horrible!

This was my first visit to KD. I’m usual hanging around Cedar Point or kings Island. It was very hot and not very crowded. I 305 was a walk on, and Twisted Timbers was only a couple of trains wait. I’ve heard I 305 is crazy intense but I really enjoyed it (and I don’t ride as much as I used to) the three camelback hills on Twisted Timbers were fantastic. didn’t have high expectations of the park but it was more enjoyable that I expected. The antique car ride is super cute and is all wooded, which seems unusual for this type of ride. They didn’t care to ask me how my ride was which felt a bit sad. The fries were a nice snack. I didn’t need a whole day to experience what I wanted to. Still worth the visit.

My 16 year old son is going on a class trip to the park. Should I give him money or can a cash app card be used. The class trip pays for entrance to park and a meal.
