We were awed at the amount of money obviously spent in landscaping and building the tasting room space. Siimply lovely. However we were underwhelmed at the products we tasted.
The tasting room is a large space with plenty of branded purchase opportunities, from shirts, stocking hats, ball caps to dog leashes, and collars. There
s a manned cash register right at the door for your convenience. You can also purchase copper barware, branded glassware. The whole experience felt more like a visit to that popular restaurant chain that dedicates half it's space to a country store.
We tasted the cider finished whisky, the sherry finished and the chardonnay finished whisky's. We could not taste a difference between them. We did enjoy a lovely cocktail: The Nutty Apple.
Now that we've been, I don't think we'd return.

I sampled the rum, cider, and port barrel aged whiskeys. While they each have a unique character and flavor, I was partial to the smokiness of the port and the light sweetness of the rum barrels. Even more delicious was the “My Cup of Tea” cocktail, which was not only one of the best balanced cocktails I’ve had in a while, it was served with the most adorable little clothespin. Overall, great place to stop by and enjoy 3oz of VA’s finest!

My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to the Virginia Distillery. I’m a scotch drinker and really don’t like bourbon that much so I was a little apprehensive about their whiskies. However, the Port Finished was absolutely delightful, so of course, we left with a bottle.
I'm glad to see distilleries doing something other than moonshine, which has been done to death already. I’m really looking forward to what the Virginia Distillery offers in the future.

We had visited Virginia Distillery about 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. They were still building the outdoor patio at that time. We decided to re-visit while touring though the area. Dave was our guide and he was terrific. He guided us through a scotch tasting with great education and fun. We were a group of 6. Some of us had cocktail samplers and some tasted a scotch flight.
The tasting room is very nice with a fire in the fireplace. The outdoor patio is very nice and although it was too cold to sit there when we visited in warmer weather this looks like a great place to dwell and enjoy some excellent scotch.
If you like scotch this is a great place to enjoy a stop and a drink.

This is a great Place to experience. The staff and the tastings were amazing. Cozy atmosphere around the fireplace with nice leather chairs. My family really enjoyed the Visit to this place.

This is a beautiful facility with an amazing staff. The lady and gentleman who were working when I did my tasting were knowledgeable and very patient with me, the novice whiskey drinker. Because of this is did the cocktail flight. The first whiskey was the beer cask with cocoa bitters. It was a tad strong. The other two cocktails used the port cask whiskey. The first was the Apple and Oak which was superb. The second was the Caffeinated Kilt which had coffee in it which I dislike so it was hard to drink. A nice time and I got a gift for a friend, so score.

This place was much larger than I anticipated with a really nice circular bar area. My friend and I got a flight for $10 and I enjoyed all of them. Then, to top it off I got one of their craft Manhattans and it was mind-blowingly awesome. Our bartender, Brandon, was an artist with the spirits. So good. Afterwards there's a little shopping to be had and I picked up a bottle of their chocolate bitters to use in my own cocktails at home. For me the only bummer is that I couldn't afford to bring a bottle home. They're a little too much for my wallet. But if you can swing it, it's well worth it for such good product

This place is so nice. On Sat afternoon there is a food truck and light music. It was a nice crowd. The flights are good and different. The service is fast and professional. With a smile and recommendation. There is good parking and a fire place w big chairs for seating and a sweet bar. Lots of outdoor seating w a fountain.

Average tasting whiskey, but very overpriced. It is a good place for a picnic, you can bring your own food.

I’m not sure that we will be able to make it to the distillery. Can the whisky be purchased elsewhere in Virginia?
Yes, you can locate our whisky at most Virginia ABC stores and can order the whisky to be picked up at the ABC location of your choice to guarantee they will have it.
