We had announced our arrival by phone, so we were already expected and were able to try the wines in peace. Meanwhile, the children were given a children's sparkling wine (juice spritzer). Mrs. Jost was very friendly and took the time to show us the wines (fantastic minerality in the Bacharacher Riesling) and to answer our questions. I would recommend her again and again.

We are four couples who are friends and have been doing a wine weekend every year for almost 40 years, with tastings at mostly high-quality, international wineries. After a fantastic 2.5-hour wine tasting at Matthias Müller in Spay, we had also planned a 2-hour wine tasting at the Toni Jost winery. We were greeted with the message that the next tasting group would unfortunately arrive an hour earlier than planned and that our wine tasting would therefore have to end after just one hour. If I had been the organizer of our group, we would have stopped the tasting immediately. The tasting itself was just about OK, the winemaker's mother tried very hard (but the winemaker herself was only available to the next group) and the wine met our expectations, so we each bought a few bottles. However, the mood at the wine tasting could no longer be saved due to the opening statement.

Seit Jahren unser Lieblingsweingut. Eine wunderbare Gastfreundschaft und tolle Weine erwarten einen beim Besuch. Wenn man sich vorher anmeldet, nehmen Cecilia oder Peter sich immer Zeit um einem die neuen Weine zu präsentieren.

They do not offer wine tastings and the owner was extremely rude to us when we walked into the store

Our river cruise stopped in Bacharach GR. We went to Toni Jost wine bar for wine tastings and after strolled the village. The Riesling was delicious and very different from US Rieslings. By all means go here. A descendant of Toni runs this place but it still bares his name.

Eigentlich bin ich kein großer Weinfreund - abgesehen vom Riesling. Und da ist man bei Toni Jost sehr gut aufgehoben, da er einiges im Angebot hat. Mir hat der Alte Reben Riesling am besten geschmeckt - und ich habe mir natürlich ein paar Flaschen mitgenommen.

Visited Cecilia and her family winery in March. Amazing hospitality and remarkable wines! We know how busy wine producers are, but Cecilia spent nearly 2 hours educating us on German winemaking, and grape growing, including a tour of her winery and vineyards! An absolutely remarkable experience. The wines produced here were some of the best wines we tasted in Germany. Do not miss visiting them and spending time in their beautiful town.

Die Weine, speziell die Weißburgunder und einige der Spätburgunder schmecken uns besonders gut. Sind auch sehr bekömmlich.
Bei der Terminvereinbarung nur für uns Zwei zur Verkaufsverkostung (ca. 30 Minuten) war die Chefin - trotz der derzeit laufenden Lese - sehr flexibel, danke dafür.
Wir freuen uns jetzt darauf, die Weine zu genießen.

Wijngut Jost is reeds 150 jaren in het bezit van de familie en behoort tot 1 van de betere wijndomeinen van de Midden Rijn.
Het proeven vindt plaats in een grote rijwoning in centrum van Bacharach waar de woonkamer omgevormd werd tot ontvangstruimte met diverse tafels.
De ontvangst was er prima en gemoedelijk....geen aankoopverplichting.
De wijnen (riesling en pinot blanc of weissburgunder in diverse uitvoeringen) kunnen a la carte geproefd worden in samenspraak met de uitbaatster. Prachtig ,evenwichtig, mineralen en fruitig : Rieslin 2015 Devon S (11 euro).
De Bacharacher weissburgunder 2015 is een toppie
maar, de spatburgunder (pinot noir) Im Hahn GG 2015 (26 euro) is klasse !!
Parkeren in de straat.
