A most excellent biking experience

If you want to do a bike tour of Chianti, this is the guy you should use. Marco Antonio Pacenti of Discovery Chianti bike tours was fantastic. He customized a day long bike tour for us based on our preferences and skill sets. Not only was the biking fantastic, but his knowledge and story telling about Chianti made the day that much more interesting. And he capped it off with a delicious homemade lunch at his home, followed by a private wine tasting at a local winery in Greve. It was a day well worth experiencing.

Beautiful scenery and so much fun!

This was our favorite day in Italy. My husband, son (14) and I did a e-bike tour and just loved it. Marco was great at understanding what interest us and totally pivoted accordingly. We ended with a great lunch in a courtyard in Greve and then a drink in Marco's gardens.

This was a mother/daughter trip before she heads off to grad school.

We had a wonderful day with Marco as the lead and Giacamo as the driver— beautiful scenery, great wine tasting experience and delicious homemade picnic lunch. It was as also great to have him share interesting information about the area and history. He was also accommodating to our skill level!

Simply Awesome

This was truly the highlight of our stay in Tuscany. Marco responded quickly to our request for a tour and organised a ride according to our fitness levels. We cycled through vineyards and rolling hills getting the most amazing views of castles and ancient dwellings. We were then given an informative and interesting tour of a winery where we did some wine tasting of the beautiful Chianti wines. We finished off with a traditional Italian lunch where we were able to chat a bit more with Marco who is so knowledgeable and obviously a proud ambassador of his beautiful homeland. This tour was worth every cent and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Awesome Bike Tour in Greve

This was a fantastic and well organized bicycle ride tailored to our level of riding ability. Marco is an excellent host and guide. The ride was not only a day of exercise but filled with great information of the region, local sites and great photo opportunities. The bonus was a home prepared meal at Marco's home after the ride. He is a gracious host. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We had 3 in our group.

Great way to see Chianti, mixed with some exercise

We had a great day, cycled roughly 30km (at a slow pace but some good hills in there) and saw a lot of Chianti, learned a lot from the excellent guide and got to try some Chianti wines too.

The guide is fantastic, very knowledgeable and kindly offered at the end with have a local liquor and some biscuits to round it all off.

Great Bike Tour

We organised a day cycling with Marco whilst holidaying in Tuscany. He was really flexible and we managed to book in a few days notice. He was happy to change the route up to suit our cycling ability and felt that not only did we get to see Chianti from a different view - Marco had lots of knowledge about the history of the area. We made lots of stops to see the sights and would say it’s well worth the money.

Our family loved the tour. Marco Antonio is a terrific tour guide. His knowledge of the region’s culture and history made the trip special. He also did a brilliant job of tailoring the route to balance challenging us on the bikes (we like the exercise) and providing for our younger daughter who wasn’t as comfortable biking the harder sections of the trek we wanted. Marco Antonio’s wife and his colleagues were very warm and helpful as well. We did a longer day, and probably should have brought padded bike shorts, but the day was well worth the sore cabooses! Thank you, Discover Chianti, for a great day.

Road Cycling in Chianti

Marco was awesome; 2 days of ~40 miles and 3k+ of climb per day; would do it again in a heart beat! Best part — we road together day 2 and he definitely “still has it”. He has an open invitation to join me in NC, USA.
