A fantastic day out… loads of monkeys, owls and other creatures… educational talks by friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Very family friendly - little ones love it (especially the playground!).
Their animals have been rescued from terrible situations, and are living their best lives!

Such a lovely center with a varity of animals very reasonably priced and woth a free 7 days return , the staff are knowlegable about the animals. Loads of information about the animals, reptiles and birds the care for. A really fun day out for the whole family.

We always love visiting the monkey haven and today was no different. We arrived in time for a bit of lunch- reasonably priced and something for everyone. We had sandwiches and hot sausage rolls!
We listened to a really informative talk about the meerkats and enjoyed walking around the enclosures. The haven is always very clean and because it is relatively small, is also a quiet and calm place to visit.
Our highlight of the day was listening to Jordan give his talk about the macaques. The stories of how the monkeys reached the haven were interesting- sad sometimes but with a happy ending- and we liked to hear how the haven had cared for them and improved their health. Jordan (and all the staff we heard today) was really knowledgeable and obviously cared about all the monkeys, their behaviours and individual needs.
We are looking forward to seeing the new capuchin enclosure when it opens!
We will definitely use our 7-day return and hope the gibbons will be as vocal and active as they were today!

Had such a lovely time looking around the different houses for the animals. Its so well laid out, and the keepers really know their stuff. Definitely a great, fun and educational day out for the whole family. Big shout out to Jordan too, who showed and taught the fairly big crowd all about the snakes and owls monkey haven also have hidden for visitors to discover.

The Haven wasn't a big as we were expecting but it was spotless and the animals were well kept. We weren't told that there would be talks so we went round the Haven in 30 minutes and left. Had we known about the talks we would have stayed to listen and learn more about the animals.

Well this was our second visit in two years, we will return as soon as we are back on the island, their were four adults in our group and all of us really enjoyed the five hours, Thank you to the amazing staff.

Everything about this visit was fantastic. Staff are nice and knowledgeable.
It’s nice to see how the animals are now happy and being able to see how they continue to develop to sight for the animals well-being.

My girlfriend and I had a really nice couple of hours spent at Monkey Haven, the staff and carers clearly loved and cared for all of animals kept there, I’d 100% recommend to anyone who visit the IOW.

Very impressed with this monkey sanctuary. Plenty of room for them to live and not over crowded. The monkeys appear in good health and happy. The keepers are obviously devoted to their animals and the keeper who gave us a commentary, Ellie May, was excellent. This is not a zoo but a rescue centre for monkeys from all over the world. The stories behind the monkeys they look after are very interesting. If you visit the Isle of Wight and care about animals this is a must visit place.

Thanks for your enquiry.
We say to allow 2-3 hours for a visit, but there are keeper talks and feeds through out the day so you are welcome to stay as long as you like.

We are of the older generation so no children we spent about an hour maybe hour and a half it’s not a big place they have a reptile house owls also meerkats as well as monkeys there is a small picnic area and a garden centre outside the entrance with a little maybe a couple of hours.

My 3yr old, 8yr old & 12yr old loved it. Was a beautiful day though ( which always helps ). Just take two umbrellas, problem solved. Has a nice play area also.

Yes. The area is outdoors and is relatively flat. Ramps are used instead of steps so all the monkeys will be easily seen.

You'd need to get a bus to Newport, then change. The number 9 from Newport to Ryde stops not far from the centre, runs every 10 minutes or so Mondays-Saturdays,
