Met a friend for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat after work. They have a good selection of craft ales and the cheese burger hit the spot. The staff are friendly and offer good service. It’s not a young crowd o suited us perfectly. We will definitely return.

We went for pre dinner drinks here on a Saturday evening. Lovely bar, good choice of drinks and a friendly atmosphere.

We usually pop into Gravesend early but today were a little later . Just in time for opening of the bar at 11am . Very masculine décor , and like it very much . . The superb varied selection available cask or bottled should suit all tastes . The barmaid very friendly but had only stated last week . One caveat , the highest urinals ever seen , and I am a six footer !! Shall definitely return , but bar snacks were not appealing to my taste . Hope they do well .

Like the previous reviewer, I was looking for a real ale on a Monday in gravesend and both my favoured haunts were closed (I'm not usually in gravesend on a Monday) so I took a chance on the Invicta. I'm glad I did. It used to be the Invicta club and was once a Home Guard social club. You can read a list of all the occupants of the building since 1853. It's these sort of details which delight.
I had a real ale of which the bar had 2 when I was in. There are a further 12 taps dispensing craft ales and I spotted 2 boxes dispensing real cider behind the bar. It does food.
It has an interesting arrangement where there is searing on stools opposite the bar - your own area for bar hanging without stopping anyone reaching the bar for service. Further on in are 5 tables and 7 higher "perching" tables. And a leather sofa and easy chairs at the entrance plus an outside drinking are on the pavement. It's a small shop face, but there is a lot of room.
It's a friendly place. I will probably return even if it's not a Monday.

I like to have a few beers round towns I pass through, but Monday nights are often a challenge. Sure enough, on this Monday, the local micropubs were shut. But then I noticed the Invicta Bar, and I could see cask pumps, so went in. When I expressed pleasure at finding the bar, the barmaid, Michelle, said, "Best barmaids in Gravesend". That's a lot to live up to--more about that shortly. I started with Cellar Head Sub Three, which was very nice for 2.7%--good to find a medium alcohol beer, as it extends your evening. After that, Pig & Porter Brewery Co. Skylarking IPA, refreshing and citrusy. They had 3 pumps, but I cast my eye along the gleaming row of taps and saw a very imaginative line, which apparently get varied regularly--so this really is a bar for beer lovers, especially if you're not afraid of taps. Delighted to see the Hacker-Pschorr Hell there, since I've only had it in a bottle. Munich lagers are my favourite, so this was heaven: you can't get more authentic than a Munich hell. Went down like honey. Oh, and Michelle did live up to her boast. You have a diamond there, Invicta Bar, who ticks all the boxes--super-efficient, charming and friendly, and knowledgeable (she tastes the beers, to know what she's selling). She told me she likes people, and that's gold dust in a bar person--the X Factor you can't train in. Finally, the bar itself is modern, spotless, and atmospherically lit. And open Monday nights. Top stuff.

I like this place, it seems a little more sophisticated than some of the other bars in Gravesend with a really nice ambience. They have a good selection of Ales and reminds me of the bars you get in california.
