This is a wonderful restoration that allows you to get a true sense of early Colonial living. The day we stopped our docent was the executive director and she could not have been more informative, more welcoming or more friendly. She took time to tell us the stories behind the displays as she walked us through the beautiful rooms. We were interested in some early Wise family history and she introduced us to Luke Kelly, the on site collections manager who was equally delightful. He showed us the voluminous local genealogical files tracing many famous and not so famous locals. He also invited us to return for research in the future. My wife and I are history buffs and we visit many local restoration sites. We agree that this restoration is an ongoing gem that finds time to actively be a part of the local community. Most importantly these are some of the nicest folks you will ever want to meet. Thank you Ker Place.

My mom and I visited during a long weekend to the Eastern Shore. This is an amazing find! The house is beautifully restored and our guide, Mary Ann, was extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much while visiting.

We arranged a tour with Pat, a docent. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Pat provided many interesting details about the house, the Kerr family, and local history. Well worth the visit.

We had our innkeeper call for us and arranged a tour at 10:30 am with a trained docent. She knew her history and took us on a tour of this beautifully restored home and learned a lot about the families who settled in the area in colonial times. Definitely worth a visit.

We recently stayed in Chincoteague for a long weekend in March. We took a day trip to Onancock and Kerr Place was the highlight of the day! Our docent, Pat, was interesting and informative. A must do!

If you're in the area, suggest you spend an hour here. Really interesting old house, parking next door. Well informed and pleasant staff. There are plenty of exhibits to see, with the occaisional special themed exhibit. The staff here should be proud of the excellent job they doing showing people around.

We visited town on our sailboat Terrapin. We stayed about three days. We have visited annually and always enjoyed walking the grounds at Ker Place. (I love the kitchen garden). This we went in and enjoyed a fabulous tour of the home! We started in the basement and traveled through each room going up. Give yourself a bit of time (the tour took over an hour) but if you like this kind if thing and learning about local history check it out!!

We were looking for something to do outside of Chincoteague so we wandered down the coast and stopped at Ker Place. We were lucky enough to have the docent just be starting a tour. She was wonderful and without all her knowledge it would have simply been a walk through type tour. This was so interesting and educational! Even our 10 year old, the only child in the group, enjoyed it. There is so much information to take in and I wish we had more time after to walk the grounds. Highly recommend if you are visiting the Eastern Shore.
