So often you go to craft stores and find half the crafts made in China. Not here at the Kendall Craft Coop which is located in the railway station.
The ladies were really friendly and there were so many lovely homemade goods and crafts. There were jams and pickles, sewing items, knitted goods , patchwork and heaps more. If you are after an inexpensive gift take a look.

Visiting the co-op is well worth the trip. There is a huge array of hand crafted items - knitted, crocheted, woven, sewn, woodwork, jams etc etc. You name it, you'll probably find it there. Great prices too.

We love this craft co-op. It’s like stepping back in time to the crafts of my grandmother. Beautifully knitted babies cardigans and old school booties. Hand made bibs with great fabrics and yummy jams. And lemon butter.
And so cheap. We just stocked up on a supply of baby’s gifts. Well worth a visit.

Looking for Australian souvenir, Baby items, some clothing, home produce, cards, decor items, an unusual gift or something special for yourself, this wonderful shop will have it. A working co operative of all home produced items, quality inexpensive, no mass produced or imported goods here.The members staffing the store are helpful and friendly.

The Kendall Railway station is no longer "manned" even though trains still stop there, however, the old station waiting rooms are filled to the brim with knitted, crocheted, sewn, baked, nailed and painted items hand made by local crafts people.
Quality of the items is very high and prices are reasonable. Shop is open 7 days per week from 1000-1600.

We were having morning tea stop just around the corner when we discovered this hidden gem. The lovely ladies and gentlemen of the area have put their hands to some great things. Knitted baby clothes, jams, pickles, fudge, wooden items, bags just to name a few and all home made. No Made In China here. Reasonably priced. Easy access for wheelchair. Credit cards accepted.

This place is a bit 'old worldly'. The local craft society has got a contract with NSW Railways to have a space in the railway station at Kendall for a craft shop, look after the grounds and do general maintenance, with the government authority retaining responsibility for the infrastructure. Members of the society roster themselves to staff the shop, roughly about once a month, I was told. Kendall is off the Pacific Highway and the main reason a traveler would consider diverting is to have a coffee stop at Miss Nellies, So I can't imagine the craft shop gets a lot of passing custom. Though I was told trains still stop at Kendall (lucky Kendall!), about 6 a day. I bought some nic-nacs. But I felt that the shop might better attract patronage if it 'modernized' some of its product. Okay yes there are some people who like tea cozies. But craftwork can also include covers for mobile phones, tablet-computers, and glasses cases (though I think I saw some covers for those), etc., and also ceramics (again, there were some there, but for me practical works by potters are the key things I want to look at in a craft shop). I am not suggesting the shop go commercial in the sense of chasing the dollar for the dollar's sake: simply a bit more product diversification. I really like it that folks are doing stuff that they like doing, that they have an opportunity to make a few cents as well, that the stuff is local, and there are some customers who appreciate it all.

This has to be the most comprehensive craft I have seen in a long time The prices are good and the quality is perfect. I purchased several beautiful things for a coming baby.

Kendall railway station is the home of the Kendall Craft Co-operative - housed in railway carriages of a bygone era, it boasts a wide variety of handicrafts, from local artisans. I purchased several lovely gifts to take back to the UK for friends and family as a momento of my trip.
