Looking for a pristine, finely manicured course with 5 attendants making sure you are greeted and your clubs are set to go on your cart? This is not the place for you. Looking for a public 18-hole course with no houses, mature trees, and seemingly “pet deer” on almost every hole, hawks, wood chucks, get yourself a tee time. Nothing tricky. Just plain old good LONG drives are the key and staying out of the bermuda “grabby a$$” grass rough. Fairways tightly mowed and greens are in great shape. Plenty of water recently and greens were slow. Sand traps were not raked and overgrown (only reason for mark down). Yes, I would still recommend this course and play it next time I’m in the area.

Nice place to hike along the river, have a picnic or BBQ and relax. Not too large to get lost in, has a banquet hall that can be rented (we used it for my son's wedding), and lodges that can be rented. A nice oasis in the suburbia of Northern Virginia.

Very quiet and comfortable place. Very lovely. Great for fishing. It could be crowded on the weekend. There are several trails through the park.

With my Camera! I have been taking pictures of the deer, birds and squirrels here since 2012. It is the only place I have ever seen where you can get very close to the deer on the golf course.
The park is typically a very quiet and serine place to visit, the exception being in the summer. In the summer it is alive with the sounds of families getting together, marriages taking place, sports activities, jet ski's on the river etc.
It is an excellent place to walk and get some exercise.

Very picturesque, clean and friendly. Nice river. Has little bbq cooking things for public use. Great place to get some steps in!

You can fish, BBQ relax, run, walk or just Be. Beautiful place well kept up and clean- plenty of parking also.

This park is not crowded and very beautiful during the fall season. There are many activities available and hiking being one of them.

We take our dog to swim and they need better areas for this, its hard to find anice area to walk down to get into the water.

no, they are scared of us, I was at a campsite recently and kids were feeding the seagulls, there must have been 20 birds harassing the family and it was quite disturbing for everyone at the surrounding sites, but the kids thought it was cute and the parents did not discourage them from this behavior.
