Stopped to sample ciders. Turned into a great afternoon meeting new people. Jennie is a dream employee! Made it informative, personal and fun! Great ciders as well. Need a few more snacks, but otherwise this is a lovely place to spend some time!

We went to get 2 bushels if apples on Sunday afternoon in early October. Wrong time if you aren’t looking for a leisurely afternoon. We ended up leaving with 30-40 people in line for purchases and one checkout register. Don’t take me wrong: their fruit is outstanding and we will go there again, just not on a warm, sunny October Sunday afternoon. Middle of the week will be much better.

A visit to Showalter’s makes for a perfect fall afternoon. We really enjoyed the hard cider (and bought some to take home), and they cider donuts were wonderful. There are great views from the porch as you sit and enjoy your refreshments, and then you can pick some fresh apples to take home afterward.

Friendly staff, great drinks and a wonderful view! We tried several drinks but the Was-sail and the Cidermakers barrel were our favorites. The cider donuts are good too!

First time here and very impressed with the venue and the exceptional setting for a wedding. The views were amazing and the atmosphere and ambiance helped make it the perfect wedding designation spot. The food catered in by Southern Kitchen was very tasty and well presented. The cider they make here is very good as were the pastry’s we enjoyed as well.. would certainly recommend this venue to anyone considering for a wedding or just large family or reunion event.

Think of it as if someone in your family had an orchard. You can visit, walk and pick some apples, and drink some delicious cider. There happens to be a fantastic view and a greenhouse space to hold a huge party / reception. But your aunt doesn’t have any apple pies, tarts, sauce, or the myriad of things that apples taste great in. You wish she did. And it can get boring there real fast, so you don’t have to visit often. Everyone is friendly, though!

With having the greenhouse there, they really have the ideal setup to make the necessary Covid accommodations and deal with any kind of weather. While you can't go in the tasting room to do tastings right now, you can still get full size pours and cans at the pick-up window. There's plenty of seating with great views of the surrounding area, so this really is just the perfect place to relax a bit and enjoy some delicious cider.

We visited here and stayed in our RV, as part of the Harvest Hosts app/service. Our host, Cristi was amazing and gracious. The views are truly spectacular and the hard cider was fantastic. I wasn’t much of a hard cider fan before coming here. The difference between what Old Hill (on the grounds at Showalter) crafts and what you get mass produced really is the difference between Budweiser and a good craft beer. I’m now a hard cider fan. Also, do yourself a favor and get a dozen of the cider donuts. They are possibly the best donuts I’ve ever had, truly. The Showalter Orchard grounds are peaceful and serene and the greenhouse made me a little regretful I wasn’t still planning my wedding :) Just beautiful. Will definitely return in late Summer for peach picking and again in the fall for the apples.

When visiting the Shenandoah Valley, this is one you must not miss. Beautiful orchard and view of the mountains.
Their apples, peaches, and locally brewed cider are just as fresh as they can get. Enjoy a Ginger/Honey cider while picking your own apples or peaches.
The staff is awesome!!! You will enjoy this one 4 sure!

We started going to Showalter's for their plants each spring. Their garden plants are of the highest quality and their perrenials get better with each passing year in our garden. They're also the go-to place around here for apples. A few years ago, they started making hard apple cider and opened a cider bar in the greenhouse. It's a great place! Their cider is very tasty and you can take some bottles home at a very reasonable price.
