So, we bid farewell to Nasirabad and hopped on a bus bound for Sehwan, a journey of 130 km. Let me tell you, after those cramped, hot vans, this bus ride felt like a slice of luxury cake, even though it wasn't a plush, high-end ride. Oh, and did I mention they were pumping out Sindhi tunes the whole way? Plus, the bus had the glorious invention known as air conditioning! 🚌❄️

We rolled into Sehwan Sharif by late evening. Our first adventure in town? Taking a motorcycle rickshaw. Well, it attempted to start, but we passengers were apparently too much for it to handle – a hilarious false start! 😄 So, we waved down another motorcycle rickshaw, and this time, it had the muscle to carry us.

Our destination was the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, the very reason we had made this pilgrimage to Sehwan. But before you reach the shrine, you stumble upon this bustling bazaar – oh, it was a sight to behold! Dried fruits, clothes, footwear, you name it – this market had it all. It was alive with energy, and what made it even better was that we hadn't encountered such liveliness in places like Larkana, Khairpur, Sukkur, and the gang. 🛍️💃

We decided to stay at a motel right in the heart of this vibrant market. It set us back 1000 PKR (that's around 3.42 bucks today). The room was an icebox with air conditioning, but it was teeny-tiny – so small that the bed practically owned the place! 😄

After dropping our bags in our ice-cold closet, we paid our respects at the profound shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. And let me tell you, I absolutely loved it, fueled by my personal admiration for him.

Now, as for dinner, it was one to forget. We ordered some daal, sabzi, roti, and, well, let's just say the taste wasn't setting any records. But with limited options, you make do, right? On the bright side, we did indulge in some fantastic lassi, and that put a smile on my face. 😋

Overall, Sehwan left a lasting impression on me, and I slept like a log. The next morning, we hopped on a bus and continued our journey, this time to Hyderabad. 🚌💤😄

Went to Sehwan on a road trip.
It is 285 kilometers from karachi
Took us around 4.5 hours through m9 motorway and Indus Highway through Jamshoro.

It was our first experience and was very good overall.

Indus highway is a little dangerous but worth the adventure.

Had lunch at Almansoor restaurant Sehwan.

Night stay can also be made at Almansoor Hotel.

Nice shrine to a Sufi poet and philosopher of the 13th century. This saint was respected by Hindus and Muslims as he advocated for tolerance. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Dhamal ( Spiritual dance ), ecstatic whirling dance of devotees, long-haired dervishes of the subcontinent revolve into transcendence to the rapid beat of the drum with most vibrant and colorful manifestations is a site to be hold, Sole reason of the visit was to see and listen to beating of the drum and watching devotees getting lost in trance. it happens daily after Maghrib prayers and ends at last prayers of the day at Isha, its overally crowded, one must reach a bit early to get a nice spot, DSLR cameras ere not allowed we had to go back and keep it in the car, the shrine is located in Shewan Shareef, a small town about 4 hours drive from Karachi, the route and place is absolutely safe, however the people at shrine asking to tie threads at doors of the shrine or anything else avoid them, they are just after the small sum of amount, Dhammal happens every day however on Thursday its kind of urs here drums are bigger, its more crowded, over all good for a day excursion from Karachi

Lal Shehbaz Qalandar is one of the most renowned and revered Sufi saints in the world!

Visiting his shrine is always a spiritually rewarding experience. You might feel put off by the ever developing infrastructure but all of that is forgotten one you reach the shrine. The dhamaal (spiritual dance) is splendid and the shrine itself sparks feelings in you that are rare to find in the world.

I have been at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalander a number of times. I found there ocean of people visiting and getting relieved. I saw people from every walk of life and every bent of mind pay homage and submit in supplication. The great and grandeur look of the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalander wear a charming and fascinating look from a far off distance. there is a proper security system now. there are good and cheap restaurants where visitors stay at reasonable price. every time and everyday there are people seen being distributing things/ alms around the shrine. One loves to spend as much time as on can afford. Tera Sehwan Rahey aabad, mastt suhna Lal Qalander!
