Although it’s not the same as visiting Tiny’s when I was young, Cashmere has some cute shops and I needed to introduce a friend to Aplets and Cotlets. The ‘factory’ was a great little place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shop was clean and bright. And there were samples of many confections! I even discovered (a favorite of our cashier) ‘raspberrylets’. Although that’s not exactly what they are called, raspberries are my favorite berry, so why not make them chewy, sweet, add some walnuts and cover them with powdered sugar. Winner!
We didn’t have time for the tour but we caught a little of the action through windows in the shop.

We arrived about 1/2 hour before the store/factory closed. We went in and we were the only ones there to take the last tour. The factory is just behind the retail outlet and our guide was very friendly and we asked a lot of questions. The process is all done by hand and quite simple. We got to see the process from the mixing of the ingredients to the final packaging. There were about 8 people on the assembly line handling the Aplets and Cotlets from the time they were mixed and going down the assembly line until the "dough" was cut and then handled by the staff at each part of the processing. The entire process took about 20 minutes from start to finish. Even the pieces of candy were placed in the trays on the assembly line by hand just before they reach the packaging portion of the process.
Aplets and Cotlets are very popular in the northwest and beyond. The retail store had so many varieties that we don't know about in our local retail outlets. I would suggest buying on line by going to their web site to see all the varieties they sell.

While in the area we stopped by here specifically to get the sugar-free and chocolate-covered versions of their treats. I thought they both are VERY good. I prefer the sugar-free since they seem less tooth-achingly sweet. The chocolate versions are so very good that I am trying to make them last a week by only eating a couple a day.

A quick trip from Leavenworth. We enjoyed a stroll through Cashmere which included a visit to the Aplets and Cotlets factory store. I love to go on factory tours. This was the smallest factory I have ever visited but it was still fun and worth seeing. We loaded up with boxes and bags of candy after the tour - of course! The staff members were quite nice!

Always fun and rewarding to visit this little factory store. Buy the bags and not the box's and you will save a ton of money.

This place is an older factory but when we went inside we were greeted by very friendly staff that were eager to help. Plenty of free samples and we recommend the tour!

When we saw a pamphlet for the store and a free tour we knew we had to go as we had bought some of the product several years ago. It was a nice 15 minute tour that explained the whole process then it was nice to be able to pick from so many choices at the factory store and there were deals going on price wise as well.

We were staying in Cashmere for 2 nights and had to check out the store. We visited in the middle of the day on a Saturday. The store is small and yes there were free samples sitting out. When asked the person working in the store about the tour she said, “ you can watch the movie over there and if you still want a tour let me know.” She told several other customers this and no one asked for a tour. She was very unenthusiastic, which did not leave us with any interest in a tour. There was a large glass window where you could peer in and watch the workers, however there was no workers. It was mid day Saturday, so perhaps the factory does not run on Saturdays. But no one mentioned this.
I was unimpressed. Had there been an employee handing out the samples and describing them it would have been much more interesting. I did not buy any candy even though I was planing to buy some for gifts. Had the employee who was working the cash register been more welcoming and shown some enthusiasm perhaps I would have given more stars.

We have bought in the past the many varieties of candies that are available. This visit we tasted the chocolate covered applets which were very yummy.
There is a tour available which is fun to see if you have not done that before.

An elderly neighbor has asked for some candied fruit from Leavenworth. I have searched and can only find Aplets and Cotlets. Are they also made in Leavenworth as well as Cashmere? Or is it something totally different that he is asking for that truly is made in Leavenworth?

To my knowledge, Applets and Cotlets are only made in Cashmere. Their kitchen is in Cashmere. It might be worth a
phone call to them and ask.
