We came up here with a group of friends and had a great time. The food and band were great. Our raft guide, Audra was awesome and kept us safe. We loved it was family operated and owned. They really care about your safety and Stacey was great at explaining the briefing with great detail. These folks are hard working and want to make sure you have fun.

My partner and I went rafting for the first time to the lower river gorge with our guide Terry and it was AMAZING. Terry was an amazing and memorable guide and made sure every guest had a fun time. It was great to support a family owned business but even better was their hospitality and care for each and everyone of us. We will absolutely have to bring family and friends next time!

We were so excited to go rafting and it was even better than we had hoped with Cantrell! Deon is a great guide that helped make our experience as fun and exciting as possible. Views are insane and also fun to get in and swim around too.

We had the BEST time with Cantrell's - we did the AM & PM Express white water rafting trip on the lower New River - and loved Terry as our guide. They are all amazing though and we 100% will be back! Thank you for such a great trip! Their personal approach feels less rushed.

I can not recommend Cantrell Rafting enough!! If I could give them more stars I absolutely would!! The staff were absolutely outstanding!! We came with a party of 7 and only 2 of us had been rafting before so we were pretty nervous! The guides reassured us and made us feel safe all while making sure everyone in our group had the best day!! After our trip everyone in our group plans on coming back every year now to support this small business! We seriously couldn’t have asked for a better first rafting experience!!

Our small group of 5 were newbie rafters. This was the greatest experience. DEVIN was our guide with wits, experience, and expertise to travel on a full day. If you visit the New River GORGE and have half a day to hit your bucket list....Cantrell is the way to go. Make sure you say hi to Ms. Nancy when you book.

The guides and staff were excellent! Beat outfitters for rafting in WV. We did full day float and loves everything about it.

GREAT family run outfit. We had an amazing day on the river yesterday! Brody was our guide and is very personable. He was wealth of knowledge about the river and the surrounding area. Very experienced and patient with his human cargo. We will definitely be back. I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to Stacy - the most excellent NASCAR bus driver 🚌💨 and Ian, who happens to be Brody’s brother, an equally knowledgeable and experienced guide. You do your parents proud gentlemen. Kudos 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Great guide, Deon, with soo much experience. We rafted the New River. Jumped off a 20 foot cliff. There were places to get out and swim/float. We felt very safe the entire full day trip. Owners were personable and funny.
The beer in the cafe tasted great and there were many options.
My only regret is not staying on property. The cabins looked nice.
No pictures since we didnt bring phones and I dont suggest you bring yours.
We will be back with a group of people next time!!!
We are trying to see all 50 states and this was our event in West Virginia. Soo happy we made this choice!!!

we rafted the first weekend of October and rented wet suits from Cantrell...and they provide splash jackets also. And booties...certainly helped with the cold water and cooler air temps...enjoy!

Our family of 7 is traveling in a 30 foot motorhome and would like to stay in the area to be able to white water raft. Where can we camp and what would you recommend for white water rafting? Ages of children are 19, 18, 16, 14, 11yrs old.
We have RV sites with water and electric hookup for $35 per night for double occupancy($10 per extra guest).The Lower New River Gorge full day or express trip would be perfect for your family. This section of river is great for beginners and experienced rafters, 10yrs old and up. To book a reservation please call 304-877-8235.
