We had a blast during our whitewater rafting trip with North American River Runners! We met with the group leader and she gave us instruction on the basics- gear, what to take, what to wear, etc- in a humorous way that pepped us up from the start. Our guide gave us very detailed guidance at every rapid so that we knew exactly what to do if we ended up outside the boat. I felt very safe with him. The picnic lunch was delicious and it was nice to relax on the beach, climb on the rocks, swim in the river, etc. The guides gave us a lot of time to really enjoy our surrounding by encouraging us to swim in the river, jump from huge rocks and have fun.
A cameraperson kayaks along the group and documents the trip on video for your viewing enjoyment later that evening. It really is worth sticking around to see it, if not purchasing it to show your friends and family. They also sell professional photos of the rafting trip. I also took a waterproof camera which was nice for taking candid snapshots but I am happy I was able to purchase a picture of the group running down the river!
