We stopped here & expected a small museum with little to look at. Were we wrong or what!? This is a hidden treasure for anyone whose served or who’ve had family serve in our great military. We had a teenager, 2 tweens & a toddler in tow & all of them had a blast!

This is better than most museums as far as the amount of the collection. Gerald can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about each item he's collected. Such a sweet, sweet man.

Started in 1982, Top Kicks is one of the best museums, in West Virginia!
A lot of variety of gear, equipment, and OPERABLE vehicles that would be a dream for any military enthusiast, the owner gives alot of information about what he has to view. This made a great stop and is a must for anyone passing through to see!

This is a private collection well presented and of interest to anyone who "was there" in the military in the last 7 decades. The every day stuff that makes the military work in displayed throughout the building and vehicles line the outside and rear. The First Sargent has spent much time and effort in displaying the things that are of interest to all servicemen and those who are interested in how the real military lives and works.

We first went here on our first trip to Smokehole alone. Then took the kids there this year when we stayed at Smokehole and my son loved it! The gentleman that runs it is very knowledgeable.

Got rained out of a day of fishing and stopped in at this great personal collection of mostly WWII memorabilia. The collector is a wealth of information about the individual pieces on display. He accompanied us on the entire visit and answered hundreds of questions, from the five of us! The collection ranges from unit patches to deuce and a half trucks. Well worth the $5 admission.

The gentleman greeted us and was amazingly friendly and very informative. All personally owned. Well worth the visit.

My wife and I were staying at Hermans cabins down the road and stopped in to take a look after seeing the sign on the side of the road.
When we got there it was almost dark and the place was locked up.
We were about to leave when the owner, Gerald showed up telling us he was in town picking up his mail.
He opened the place up just for my wife and I to give us a personal tour which lasted about an hour.
Gerald is a walking encyclopedia of all the artifacts in the museum.
He rattled off all there was to know about every single item, including how he personally restored every jeep and truck in the museum.
To this day he is still out looking for artifacts for his collection.
Certainly worth a visit, just give yourself about 2 hours to go through the collection.

You will see things you didn't know STILL existed! You can read authentic letters written during the wars, see the equipment actually used during the wars including vehicles, weapons, pictures, and much more. It is a must to see!

This was my second visit. Even more stuff. As a Soldier I love looking at all these things. some old some new. He has done a great job with this private museum!
