Traveled 20 miles out of our way to visit and the placed was closed! Arrived at 2:30pm on a Thursday, sign says is supposed to be open and it's not!That's disappointing 😪

I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised to find that they give you 4 free 2 ounce pours. A 10oz pour is only $2 and 6 pack of bottles is $9... and they pints and growler fills as well. They have a nice little brewery, having been in business for 25 years! It is a little quirky and has a Viking/Valkyrie theme to it and most of the beers are traditional German brews. I wouldn't swing in here looking for the latest New England IPA cross with a sour, but they do make some Mead or brackett and unique seasonal varieties. When I visited, they had a food truck outside selling wood fired pizza. The gentleman working when I visited was very knowledgeable and helpful. Stop in, try some beers, bring a cooler and grab a six pack or more to take home and enjoy.

Randy and Ann are the very friendly, creative folk that run this quirky bar with great beers in Dallas, Wisconsin. Randy gave our family a 45-minute tour of the brewery, a very informative one that explained the philosophies and techniques behind the craft beers such as Big Swede and Raven Woman. The bar itself is attractive, while the seating area is a bit quirky but comfortable. We received a generous tasting of about half the beers available which gave us a good understanding of the range of malting, kilning, and grain varieties that produced the various brews. This is a great place with great service and great beers.

My husband and I have driven right by this place for 15 years on our way to Chetek, not really knowing what it was about. What a mistake! This past Saturday was a rainy cold day, so we drove back towards Dallas, WI looking for something to do. It’s a brewery with an ambiance that can’t be duplicated! It has so much charm inside. There are some booths, and tables, with all sorts of games on them from cribbage to UNO, and they even have a pinball machine. There is artwork for sale as well. The owner Ann was behind the bar. She was very pleasant and welcoming. My hubby and I each tried a few kinds before setting on which beer to order. You can try up to 4 samples. I chose the Dragon Blade which I loved, and he chose the Rubee Red Lager. We bought the souvenir glasses for $7 each filled with 16 ounces of beer, which you can bring back for refills going forward for only $3! How reasonable! You have a choice of 2 beautiful glasses. There is also a popcorn stand area where you scoop some popcorn into a dish, and have the choice of about 20 different seasoning to sprinkle on, from savory to sweet. That was fun! I cannot wait for the next chance to stop by this awesome find! I also included a few photos.

We stopped in during a family vacation to see the brewery. I really enjoyed the beer, and my family enjoyed looking at the artwork. We also all had fun playing the pinball machine with the revenue being donated to support local charities. I think we talked to the owner and he was also very friendly.

I had last been out to the brewery in around 2012. At that time, I had just stopped to sample and purchase some of their hand-crafted brews. An enjoyable visit back then, with intentions on a return trip in the future.
I had an opportunity, and was able to participate in the brewery tour on 7/1/2017. Randy and Ann are most gracious as hosts. The tour was low key, laid back, and, included the history as well as the process of the brewery. The tasting was amazing. I am not sure if the recipe has changed slightly, but, the Ruby Red was better than I remembered from my first visit (which was impressionable because I purchased some to go in 2012).
As I am already into my 2nd six pack of the Vienna Woods, I am saddened that I will be running out shortly. The lagering of the brew produces a clean refreshing flavor of the malts. I like the hint of caramel with a slight toast character.
As I tend to enjoy English style ales, the Berserk, English Barleywine, hosts a complexity of flavors with earthy tones. Salute to this one. I will be sharing this brew with my homebrewing circle.

Randy is a very knowledgeable brewmaster and puts out a fabulous product. The offer a wide variety of beers, both on tap and in the bottle. Al the beers are brewed by them. IIf you like beer it is worth your while to visit this out of the way small town brewery. On Thursday they offer brats and beer.

My Fiance and I have a goal to visit every brewery in the state. (Valkyrie was stop #72).
We visited Valkyrie in the winter time when the tap room was closed, and went on their tour. The tour was very interesting, particularly with the future of micro brewery's (midwest hops, etc.) As a non beer drinker it was interesting to learn the yeast makes all the flavor, and most brewerys only deal with one yeast to minimize complications. Valkyrie, uses many.
Out of all the beer I have tasted, I have NEVER had so many different variations of flavor (orange spice, black licorice, chocolate and pepper).
Worth the stop, you can tell the owners love what they do!

This place is a hidden gem- we have been driving from the cities to our lake home for 20 years and this brewery only got a sign off hwy 25 last summer- we made a stop and we're not disappointed! We tried 4 for free and plenty to choose from - great, rich lagers,ipas, ciders And stouts. Kids played pinball and chess and the room was equipped with board games and cribbage with hand crafted boards from a cities shop teacher. Such a great place we will be going back and recommending to friends!! Did I mention the beer is incredible?! The hot chocolate is amazing and sure to please this holiday season. And Check out the popcorn with Penzys spices to choose from - fantastic experience and great owners- very nice and welcoming.

Driving from MI to the Twin Cities, we decided to go through Dallas to visit this brewery, based solely on the name. What we found was a charming taproom with incredible beers, served with charm and humor by the owners, Randy and Ann. (Ann also did all of the painting inside! Very talented!) Since they don't have a kitchen (but do serve popcorn all the time and brats sometimes) we ordered a pizza from Crickets, next door and brought it back to Valkyrie. They brew wonderful range of very tasty beers. We left with a case to go, two t-shirts, and new friendships. We'll be back! BTW, their Warhammer stout is incredible!
