Absolutely wonderful day. We worked with Mulberry Lane Farm for a birthday celebration. Everything was perfect, the staff, venue and day.

We really liked our visit here. The animals were adorable and friendly. There is a lot to do here and we enjoyed interacting with the animals. The kids loved the kittens, bunnies and chickens. The grounds are gorgeous and very well kept.

Not a family friendly place to go.

Thank you, Pat Anderson, for reaching out. Your visit on August 24, 2021, was one of those days that the weather person, depending on what station or website you viewed, had mixed messages as to how the day would pan out. We, as did the other 100+ guests who visited that morning believed any storm to the west of us was going to miss us. We, therefore, followed our normal protocol and opened to the public.
As stated on our website:
"*Inclement Weather Policy
We are open the months of May through Oct rain or shine. However, we cannot open, or remain open, if the severity of the weather poses a threat to the safety of our guests, our farmers, and our animals.
For example, but not limited to, there appears to be an extended weather pattern, downpours, thunder & lightning, extreme cold, or dangerous heat index.
We cannot predict if or when we might have to close. Be sure to prepare for your visit by checking the weather in advance. The final decision to visit the farm during a questionable weather forecast remains with you.
We do not offer refunds, rebates, exchanges, or rain dates.
The Granary has rain ponchos for purchase."
With that said, when we received the Weather Alert notice on our phones, in the best interest of our guests and animals we did scramble to secure everyone in a safe place. We had to move fast. and yes, we did want to get the smallest of our farm animals, the bunnies, under shelter as their box is outside in the open.
Those who elected to stay since it appeared to be a quick passing front, were ushered into the lower dairy barn. The dairy barn is mainly underground and the safest location on the farm. Had we NOT taken this precaution, and heaven forbid something DID happen, I'm sure your review would have taken another tone.
Once it was determined that the major part of the storm was missing us, although we still had a downpour, thunder, and high winds, we offered those who wanted to stay that we would remain open for another two hours. As you know we have the indoor kitten barn, indoor critter barn, indoor sow barn, indoor calf barn, milking cow undercover, etc. However, you do have to go outside to pass from one barn to the next. When families elected to depart we did close and sent our farm workers home.
I'm sure no one can fault us for keeping you, our guests, and our farm animals' best interest in mind. We continue to advise you to keep your eyes on the sky and make the determination before entering any outdoor activity. Mother Nature can be fickle and no one can outguess her nor have control over her.

Not a happy camper after our visit today. Took 4 of the grandchildren, arriving about 1:45. Their website and all signs indicate they close the farm 2 hours after the last admission. Some things like the kitten barn close an hour after the last admission. OK, after complaining that the kitten barn was closed at 4:15 I was told the last admission was 2:15. NOW I understand how this works. I thought since hours were posted as 10-3 with close 2 hours after the last admission, this meant they were open 10-5. NOPE! WHY in heavens name don't you make this really clear when people are paying to get in? Plus, once in, how would a visitor know what's closing time? How are we supposed to know when last admission occurred? We took time for snack and missed the opportunity to visit the kitten barn again. Kids were disappointed.
Also, for heavens sake, pick off hours to do the mowing. Having a commercial mower roaring around the whole visit just pure stunk!

On our website, on the check-in counter, and on the chalkboard at admissions, we have a posting of our Daily Event Times outlining by the hour the day's events. As well, you were personally handed a guideline paper and asked to read it before entering the petting farm that also spells out that the kitten barn is closed from 12 to 12:30 for potty break & nap time, and again one hour after the last paid general admission. One has to assume you just may be that last paid admission of the day so the postings are encouraging you to visit those time-sensitive areas first.

The staff, the animals, the experience! All were worth 5 stars. Allowing children the opportunity to touch baby animals and teach them about life on the farm was a very rewarding experience. We cherished the day and have built life long memories. We will definitely be back!

My kids love Mulberry Lane Farm, but the price is steep. Family of four went this past weekend and it was $56. That's quite a bit of money to pet animals and a ten minute hay ride. The farm is very clean and the animals are well cared for.

Thank you, Erin, for your review. We are happy to hear you had a fun time and hope you can visit us again soon. Unlike most zoos, museums, amusement parks, we allow and encourage families to bring picnic lunches to extend their stay. We also have special events throughout the year for families on a budget. Mother's Day and Father's Day Mom/Dad is free. Pay Your Age Day when children are only charged their age to visit, and in fall your visit includes your own FREE you pick pumpkin. As well, we have coupons throughout the Fox River Valley and even hand out coupons for you to use on your next visit. I'm sorry you may have missed the sign directing you to the Granary before departing for the day. If you'd like to reach out I'd love to send you a coupon to help you on your next visit.

We've been twice in the last year. It's very clean, well-staffed and well-run. However we took mum, dad, a 2-year old and grandma and it was $54. For comparison the NEW zoo was $27 for all of us and $5 covered us at bay beach for the same 2-hour period. It is a different experience as mulberry is much more hands-on, but it was by far the most expensive thing we did over the weekend.
We're not that budget-conscious but there should be a senior discount or a family discount or something. $30 would be a lot for what it was, but $54 was just painful.
Again, beautiful place and my son loved it.

For families on a budget, we encourage you to visit on Grandparents Day when grandparents are free, Mother's & Father's Day when they are free, or Pay Your Age Day when you'd only pay $2 for your 2-year-old & no one is over 13 years of age since we don't charge more than $13 that day. We also have coupons available both at our farm we give toward your next visit or coupons with Fox Valley Visitors Bureau, Winnebago Area Guide, & Calumet County guide. The major difference between us and the ones you mentioned is that we are a privately owned farm run by Mom & Dad farmer. No funding by the county, city or state as the NEW Zoo & Bay Beach are. So really we aren't comparing apples to apples. We burden the full expense of running our farm. Also, we have free parking and allow carry-ins. I've paid for parking at a zoo for nearly what our admission is and spent far, far more for a hot dog than what packing a picnic lunch would cost to feed the whole family. PS if you come two times a year already, I'd highly recommend asking Grandma & Granpa for season passes for Christmas. By the third visit you are saving and can come as many times as you'd like. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

The venue was really cute and well decorated for the wedding. However, what took away from the special day was the very rude staff that directed the wedding. It’s okay to run a strict party, but the staff went about everything very brashly. Instead of enjoying the magical day, attendees focused on handling the reaction of the staff. I would not recommend this venue for upcoming weddings.

However, I agree with your 1-star review of a 5-star wedding. I refuse to bring down a lovely couple because of the actions of a few.

My son is 15 and loves goats and we still like to do the traditional pumpkin patch find your pumpkin(for as long as he will let us). Mulberry Lane Farm delivered. It was busy but never seemed to be the property is nicely spaced out. The wagon rides ran frequently and we just had a 10 min wait if that. I loved how it is so hands on and parents and children are welcomed to go in with almost all the animals and pet them and hold some of them. There are staff available to answer questions about the animals too. We weren’t rushed to move on from one animal to the next and we even went back before leaving to see the goats one more time. Lots of great photo opportunities here, there are old tractors, a beautiful barn, pony rides, try milking a cow, and more. It is a well maintained and cared for property. I would recommend checking out their website or Facebook for more information. I was worried we were going to look out of place with our son being 15 but we had blast and look forward to returning next year. Also I would suggest to wear at least boots/shoes and maybe play clothes, if you are stepping into the animal pens. Yes, there is hand sanitizer available.

We've even have couples who are annual pass holders. So yes, if you love animals and love the outdoors, Mulberry Lane Farm should be on your itinerary.

Thank you for your inquiry. We are a 100 year old working farm that covers over 125 acres. Couples that are looking for country elegance select Mulberry Lane Farm as their venue of choice.
If the wedding you are attending is having their ceremony at the back of the farm you will be transported there via hay wagons. Some guests elect to walk down Mulberry Lane that is outlined with hay fields because of the beautiful scene and country breeze.
Our parking lot along with the majority of the farm has manicured lawns with some gravel lanes. I would select a footwear that you feel comfortable walking across your front lawn in. A stylish flat perhaps?
The farm does have portable restrooms which we take pride in keeping clean & tidy.
Weddings at Mulberry Lane Farm are often of the elegant nature. Guest are invited to dress as they would for any wedding they attend. If your bride's invitation, or other form of communication, suggest otherwise you'd want to follow that guideline.
