This museum has 2 buildings. One building is the history of Prarie du chein. The other building is about the fort, the fort hospital, and the military dealings in the area. There is a lot of good information to read. I enjoyed the exhibits.

Amazing collection and research room. Knowledgeable staff. You can tell that a lot of work has been painstakingly done to preserve the collection.

There are two museum buildings and a resource center/gift shop. Impressive medical firsts and lots of interesting Wisconsin history. The resource center is extremely impressive for anyone who is working on a research project. Kudos to the new curator for a job well done! The manager we spoke to was very knowledgeable and personable.

A self guided tour of the medical building from the original fort was very interesting. There were lots of interesting things to look at and information to read and learn. The person in the visitors center was very interesting to talk to and she knew a lot of history that wasn't presented in the exhibit.

We enjoyed our visit to the Fort Crawford Museum. We learned a lot about this part of WI history. The information on thhe fort and the medical experiments conducted there was quite enlightening. We also enjoyed the museum on Prairie du Chien history.

Really enjoyed going through the Military Hospital Museum. Amazing stories and exhibits! This fort museum was a delightful find. For just about an hour you can learn a ton of interesting facts and see many items and exhibits on the self-guided tour. The gentleman behind the counter was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed talking to him. Don't miss this on your visit to Prairie Du Chien.

This is the perfect local museum. We learned so much about Prairie du Chien, from Fort Crawford to button making, from local high schools to mole celebrations (apparently celebrating both the animal and 6.02 x 10^23). My only disappointment was that the fort infirmary (the only building still standing from the original fort) didn't have a medical exhibit as advertised (apparently it was being updated). But it was still very much worth a visit.

This museum is nicely laid out and contains a wealth of information about the fort, the hospital and its place in history. A separate building is devoted to Prairie du Chien. This is a self-guided tour and well worth your time, especially if you like history..

The hospital was our favorite part. Lots of civil war history and they had a lot of great items. The also had amazing diaramas. The lady running the gift shop was informative and very friendly.
