This is a Racine City and UW-Parkside joint venture. City is to provide the facility and maintenance and UWP the program. City does nothing. My son did his Eagle Scout project here to clean up years of overgrowth and it took four dump trucks of refuse away. UWP has a good environmental program geared at Elementary-age children. UWP also runs a kayak and canoe rental to paddle up-down the Root River. No one knows of this place, which makes it a great place to spend an afternoon.

A great place to rent a canoe and to sightsee along the Root River! This place has workdshops and helps inner city children learn to valuel the green space we have so close by!
