Shane Scott agreed to an unusual request from me to deliver my husband's remains to a Jackson gravesite during a Celebration of Life gathering. Larry was born in Jackson, worked as a cowboy growing up there, and was a horseman the rest of his life. His boots containing the ashes were carried in the stirrups of a riderless horse led by Shane. It was a very special sendoff.
We'd ridden with JHTR in the past on a specially arranged group ride where the horses were trailered to the area we wanted. Covid-19 has complicated life, but just give this outfit a call and see what they can do.

The trial ride is beautiful and the people were very nice. The horses are well trained. I would have like if the horses had moved a bit faster. My cowgirl was very knowledgeable and personable. You get some great views of the Tetons which was worth it.

We booked an hour trail ride for 4 people on the day we phoned. Two of the party had not ridden before. The horses were great and the trail ride was easy with wonderful views.

My 25 year old daughter and I took a 2 hour morning trail ride. Very accommodating people, friendly, outgoing, efficient with check-in, etc. Concerns about safety, checking cinches, etc. was good, asking questions about level of ridership, good. I was surprised they didn't at least offer the use of helmets, especially for children. We explained that although we hadn't ridden in a few years both of us, especially myself, were quite familiar with horses and riding. I can honestly say I would have gotten just as much from walking the trails as riding them. I was hoping for a little more than a very slow walk, maybe a trot or two? It was quite a mixed group and since a number of groups did go out, it seemed as if they might have merged the groups better in order to level the groups more homogeneously, in terms of riding abilities. Our group was fairly large so it was very hard to hear anything the trail guide was saying so we lost out on that part, being the end of the line. I wasn't unhappy, but for $120+ dollars I feel I could have spent my money more wisely.

We were fortunate to be the only 3 in the party. Our guide was awesome, very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and the trail provided us with some of the most beautiful views in Jackson Hole.

The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. My wife and I were fortunate to be able to go on our ride with just our experienced and friendly guide. The horses were very gentle and easy to control for a couple of inexperienced riders. I did have an accident toward the end of our ride. Something spooked my horse and he rared up and bolted at the same time resulting in me going off the back of the horse. My chief injury was my pride although I did have several scrapes and scratches. Our guide was felt responsible until I finally convinced him that it was neither his nor the horses fault.

The facility was well run. Ariel was a wonderful guide. Horses were well trained and perfect for me as I am not a really experienced rider. We rode Zip and Bilko.

Really enjoyed horse back riding here. The people were very nice and their horses were beautiful and very gentle. Our guide was very talkative and informed about the area and the mountains. A professional photographer was present through out the ride and captured pictures that I will forever treasure. Highly recommend.

Great location as this is the only horseback riding offered in the downtown JH area - you can walk to the stable if you like. We called the day of and the staff was very accommodating by scheduling our 1-hour ride. Tyler (our guide) was wonderful, very informative, and patient with us as first time riders. They made us comfortable and assured us throughout the ride, especially my daughter, who was a bit nervous at the beginning of the ride. Since you are in downtown JH, the trail starts off a bit underwhelming but as you climb the mountain, the views are stunning. Highly recommend given the price, the location, and the staff. This was a JH highlight for us and right near the heart of downtown. Highly recommend!
