Our guide was fantastic and did her absolute best with the equipment her company provides her. Unfortunately the telescope she was given by her company is only big and bulky and made to look impressive by those who are not familiar with astronomy. I have given better telescopes as gifts that provide better viewing of the stars and planets and it had absolutely nothing to do with the weather conditions because when we arrived it was clear. This was a total waste of time and money and I actually feel bad for our guide that she had to freeze with us to set up this worthless telescope to see some dots in the sky. Complete disappointment.

Dear Future Customers, If you look through the handful of less than 4 or 5 star reviews Wyoming Stargazing has received over the years you will see that we have accepted the constructive criticism that we have received and have refunded those guests. I have already refunded this customer as well. However, the criticism that we have received in this review is just not justified. Here are some facts to consider: 1. Our telescopes are not "meant to look big and bulky". They ARE big and bulky! We use Dobsonian telescopes with 20-22" primary mirrors to capture a huge amount of light to show you galaxies millions of light years away. Our telescopes are not "worthless" (they cost more than $10,000) nor are they "outdated". While there are telescopes that use camera technology to project color pictures of objects in the night sky, anyone can pull up a picture from NASA on their own computer or smartphone. We believe that having the light of galaxies that are millions of miles away actually hit your eye is a magical experience. We'd like to offer you that experience. Please take a look at our website under the section about "Hubble Envy" so you know what to expect from the experiences that we offer. 2. On our website we provide information about stargazing around the time of the full moon. While we can still offer stargazing programs near the full moon the amount that we can show costumers is diminished as we explain on our website. We recommend booking stargazing programs at least a week away from the full moon. This customer booked their program one night before the full moon. 3. Despite what the customers claims about the clear sky, there was actually quite a bit of haze that night. That haze coupled with the nearly full moon unfortunately degraded the seeing conditions more than we had hoped it would. According to our Stargazing Leader, the customer expressed that she was satisficed with the experience after the program concluded. Had we known the customer wasn't satisfied we would have issued a refund immediately. We welcome everyone's honest feedback about our programs. Typically, a quick phone call (1-844-996-7827) can clear up any misunderstanding or gaps in expectations. We look forward to hearing from you and taking you out on an experience under Wyoming's extraordinary skies. Clear Skies, Samuel Singer Founder and Executive Director

If you do anything in Wyoming, let it be this. Unreal experience. One of our guides was a student and the other an astronomer who are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the field. They see that everyone is warm while they set up. As the sun fades and your eyes adjust, you'll be astounded. Even before you look in the telescope, the milky way reveals itself, something I'd never seen before. I'd also never seen a shooting star and saw several. They guided us to see the moon, several clusters of stars/galaxies and Saturn. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my lifetime.

My 15 year-old found this stargazing tour on-line. I called to get more info and Samuel was terrific, explained every aspect and also asked great questions about us to ensure this would be a good time. They were very flexible with our schedule. They picked us up at our hotel (on the coldest evening after the polar vortex hit) and drove us to the perfect location for viewing. We had an amazing time, learned so much about the galaxy, and would recommend this to anyone. Samuel is the best!! We hope to do again in the summer.

My wife and I booked a private stargazing tour with Wyoming Stargazing through our hotel. On the day of, our guide (Rachel) confirmed with us that we were still on - even though it was snowing and cloudy. My wife and I weren't sure if it was going to happen, but we trusted that the company and it's staff knew what they were talking about. We were picked up at 7PM and by that time, the sky was completely clear.

Rachel picked us up and took us to the location for the stargazing - she was very friendly, personable and extremely knowledgeable about astronomy. On the 30 - 40 minute drive she explained what would happen once we arrived. It's important to note the temperatures in mid November were in the single digits and got down to -1 degree. So make sure to check the weather and dress accordingly in the winter. I should also note Rachel did provide us a number of breaks to get back in the car during the 2 or so hours we were there so we could warm up a little and also provide us with hand and feet warmers that we could use.

We saw so many different stars - I can't remember all of them - but some are: Polaris (the North Star), a visual binary (2 stars orbiting one another), Hercules Globular star cluster, and a number of others. We also saw Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The night was so clear we were able to see Saturn and it's belts as well as Jupiter and it's bands along with 4 of it's moons. Everything we saw was amazing!

To top it off, Rachel asked us tons of questions and answered all of ours as well. Not only was the tour visually amazing, but my wife and I walked away with knowledge we didn't have before that is both amazing and mind blowing to know and think about.

I would highly recommend doing this and if you can, ask for Rachel.

Nicole took us to the Gran Teton park for our stargazing experience which was great. Being a shoulder season, we did wait for a few days before our trip before booking, and booked early in the week, just in case. There was a controlled burn, that made ALOT of smoke that day on the Idaho side. I called to verify that we would be good and the fellow on the phone checked into it. We did not have any issues where we were.

Loved seeing Jupiter and Saturn! Seeing the various stars was cool as well. Knowing we were looking at a couple of different galaxies, was neat, and not something we could see even with an expensive home telescope. This telescope was a small monster! Loved the opportunity. This type of thing was something I had been wanting to do for a very long time, and weather & location stuff has not cooperated for us until now. We were grateful to participate. I asked alot of questions. My wife actually saw 4 geminid meteors, one which happened to streak by the telescope lens where she was looking. She squealed and was so excited.

It was a bit cold, but we layered up, and brought some hot chocolate in one of those metal insulated bottles, and it was quite hot.

I am glad we did purchase the picture package as well. Those shots were nothing like what I could have gotten on my own.

Thanks!

My family and I were very excited to see the crystal clear night skies of Wyoming when we just visited in October. It was on and off raining during the first part of our stay, which we understand nobody has power over the weather. The day of our tour we had our reservations of this happening yet reconfirmed with WY Stargazing it was continuing to happen although the skies were mostly cloudy. Once we went on our tour it was clear this was a bust. We saw we ONLY Jupiter. One thing! Why would they reconfirm this tour if they knew it was mostly cloudy for the night? Is WY Stargazing that eager to get our money that they expect us to pay full price for only seeing one thing? If they are "experts" in the sky why wouldn't they have rescheduled for the following night when it was predicted for clear skies? Sadly, we are still waiting to hear back if we'd get even a partial refund. This was over a week in an half ago and nobody has reached back out. Worst customer service ever.

Yup, this one is on us. These guests should have been refunded the night of their program. They were refunded as soon as we received this review. We had a breakdown in communication between our Stargazing Leader and our Program Coordinator. Mistakes happen sometimes, but hopefully we now have systems in place to prevent problems like this from happening again. We have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed policy on our programs. If we can't give folks a good show there is no charge. Sincerely, Samuel Singer Founder and Executive Director

This was a first time experience for my mother and I. We had so much fun and learned so much! I am still blown away that we were able to see Saturn’s rings and Neptune’s bands. Additionally, Rachel was absolutely wonderful. Not only was she super knowledgeable, but she was kind and very easy to connect with!

The most amazing experience, Wyoming Stargazing is a Do Not Miss for any Jackson/Grand Tetons visit. Dave, my personal stargazing tour guide was incredible. He set up an enormous telescope and showed me the rings of Saturn, the storms of Jupitor and the star Vega, one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, as well as other amazing sites in space. I have always been a space geek and Dave really shared my passion. He was so knowable about what he was showing me; it was like being out with Neil deGrasse Tyson!!
