Free museum packed with artifacts from residents of Moorcraft. This town sprung up as a stop along the West Texas Cattle trail from Texas to Montana. We enjoyed reading about the folks that homesteaded this area and learning about the sheep ranches and seeing antiques from the late 1800’s to early 1900. We spent over an hour here and enjoyed it.

The museum is very interesting. The staff was very friendly. I love it
If you pass from Moorcroft City you can stop a few hours.

I visited this museum before the remodel and it is very nice, I was particularly interested in the Empire Sheep Ranch display. Worth a visit, as it has been revamped since then...

They have a lot of different type of exhibits which are worthwhile if you like history, and they have a HO railroad in construction but operational at this time. Worth your time to visit.

Highly recommend that you stop if traveling through Moorcroft. There is so much packed in to this little museum! It is very well organized and everything is labeled with a lot of detail. My husband asked a question about the Chisholm Trail and she did some research and had the answer before we left! The fact that is is free makes it a "don't miss"!

Not a lot of interactive stuff but a lot of fun history. Very fun first visit. Small children probably wouldn't appreciate very much except for geodes and civil war uniform/weapons.

What a little gem this museum is!! It has a great collection of prairie history and you will be glad you stopped in. The museum has a wide variety of frontier items and a very friendly staff. Take a few minutes and get off the interstate and enjoy this local favorite

The collection of arrowheads found in the area was very nice. The museum is well-organized and has lots of things from the local ranchers. Very interesting how the cattle drives came here for water and good grass back in the day.

Nice little hidden gem. Full of information and different artifacts. During my visit the were having a quilt exhibition. The best part is that the museum is free. Recommend this museum if you are in the town.
