We were traveling through Wyoming on a driving holiday from Australia and stopped at Sheridan for the night.
Looking for something to do for the afternoon we read of this museum. We were pleasantly surprised and glad we found King's Saddlery and Museum.
No admission fee, just a donation needed and so many interesting things to look at.
An enormous amount of saddles, equipment etc and assorted old western memorabilia. Interesting stories about the genuine items, including photos, many used by famous people.
It was also great to chat with staff, they were very friendly and happy to answer any questions and tell us a bit about the history of the collection.
Would recommend a visit here if stopping by Sheridan.

This is a really neat shop if you have a horse. It is also interesting to browse through even if you don’t. We were looking for gift wares for our up-coming Western birthday party. We did find some terrific cowboy themed paper napkins that we bought. They will be perfect for our party although they were a little pricey for paper goods. It was fun seeing all the Western gear in this shop. If you happen to eat at the Cowboy Cafe, it is just a few shops down so you might as well have a look inside.

If you are into western saddles and horse equipment, and rodeos, I cant imagine a better place. saddles are overwhelming, but lots of other stuff to see as well

This is a saddle maker and leather craftsman's dream. many saddles and tools on display. They also host a welcoming party for the Leather trade show.

Stopped in to buy some new cowboy hats. The lady behind the counter acted like we were interrupting her. Then when we showed the the hat we wanted she argued it wasn’t the right hat …ok you know your inventory…then she walks off and keeps barking at us a question we don’t understand and is getting huffy because we are not answering. Then she storms back looks at the hat then storms off down the row. So I read lips…and couldn’t hear or see her walking away but she was flat out rude. We left but I did thank her for her rudeness. Manners are free.

First time here. Free parking in lot or on street. Museum is next door/across alley from store. Small admission fee (honor system, so do the right thing) Lots of saddles, ropes, rifles, and other items used in cowboy/ranch life. To me, the most interesting part was the old photographs. I could spend a lot of time looking at those. There is an upstairs, too. Don't miss that. Educational for those of us who do not live on a ranch or ride a horse every day. History buffs will really enjoy it. Would not recommend for babies/toddlers/young kids.

Impressed and amazed are the two words that best described my visit. The plethera of western aricles are the work of The King family and they shpuld be complemented on their efforts.
Spend an hour or two, look in every nook and cranny and you will discover a world that many did not know even existed.

King’s museum is literally stuffed with the Old West. Over 500 saddles, an extensive array of early long guns and pistols, and lots of historical items round out this free museum. Well done.

Exceeded expectations! The museum is well worth the stop and it’s free. Museum filled with rifles,guns, vintage saddles, leather working tools…. There is even a notebook of pictures when Queen Elizabeth came for a visit in 1984.
The saddlery has a great variety of everything related to saddles and tack. Several cowboy hats to choose from and a variety of other items.
