Staff was okay, Air conditioning was nice but the Food was horrible (Kalua pig had way too much liquid smoke, the fish that was battered in egg had no taste and the chicken long rice had huge chunks of mushrooms...should be named Mushroom long rice instead)...Save your money and have something from Mc.donalds dollar menu instead. I will never go to this place again.

The gardens were pretty but needed some attention. Things looked a little scruffy an too natural. There is so much potential for a really beautiful spot.
Also our tour had the buffet lunch here which also needed some attention. There wasn't quite enough room for our large group. The food was so-so and the setting was rather tired looking. This place needs some love.
Oh yes, there was a gift shop but it was closed.

The current owners are only interested in selling you their mediocre food. They have let these marvelous gardens fallow.

We joined a local tour that had a lunch stop in this place. The buffet offered some variety, but was not particularly impressive, except for the pineapples and papayas which were very juicy and sweet. The service was great. The staff were very friendly.
The garden setting was perfect for a relaxing lunch. While we were there, it was unusually quiet. We were the only customers (only 4 including the guide). An hour later, a group of Japanese tourists arrived, filling up 2 more tables. But I think the restaurant has a capacity of 20 tables, and they are usually all filled at lunch time, but tourists have been staying away from the Big Island due to the recent and still ongoing volcanic eruptions.
After lunch, we took a pleasant stroll in the Gardens which were immaculately manicured, with lots of beautiful flowers and plants, and some lovely Japanese structures.

Went here for the lunch tour. Big place to work up an appetite. With all the plants in Hawaii you can see all if not most in the large but walkable space. I really like the name tags on the plants and trees which helps you identify what you are looking at. Be careful in the orchid enclosure the mosquitos will eat you alive.

For $15.00 from 11 to 1:30 there is a buffet lunch and tour the garden. The food was fantastic carved beef, fish, chicken, salads, soup, dessert as drink. The gardens are easy to walk and see fantastic plants. Very enjoyable lunch and walk!

stopped here on a tour. very pleasantly surprised and happy we visited the restaurant and gardens. if you are dissapointed, you have a problem.

For less than $20 you can visit the gardens and have the buffet. Gardens are beautiful and buffet is average - juice and water is included with the buffet but can soft drinks are $2 extra. Worth a stop if you have several days in the area.

They’re worth a stop if you’re in the area or your cruise ship has an excursion there. They do a buffet although we didn’t try it.
The gardens aren’t very large. It takes about an hour to go through the whole place. The map they give you isn’t very helpful.

Beautiful and well maintained garden with a variety of local foliage. The also serve a buffet lunch which I have not tried.

I was there when the buffet included roast beef , pulled pork and some sort of fish . The desserts are not really worth saving room for.
