We had a great day with Kea as she introduced to the Kona side of the big Island. Our first stop was Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park where we looked across the bay to Captain Cook's monument. Here she told us the story of Captain Cook's demise at the hand of the Hawaiians. Our next stop was snorkeling at Honaunau Beach. After an hour snorkeling we took off to lunch at Keoki's Ono Fish N Chips (great food). Our next two stops were a coffee grower (Greenwell Farms) and a chocolate farm (The Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory). On the way back to the ship we stopped at two flea markets to buy souvenirs.
Kea, our tour guide, was an excellent host and was very knowledgeable. Kea weas very flexible when it came to what we wanted to see.

Great tour of the island with a knowledgeable guide. Our entire family enjoyed the lava field tour and the waterfalls and especially the new black sand beach. Beautiful Island, Full Day and lots of beauty.

We took a full day and saw so much. My kids still cannot belive Kea never once used a GPS. We would never has leaned or seen so much on our own. We cannot recommend this company enough for their kindness and professionalism!

We did the 2 step snorkeling tour and went to great snorkeling location, great local lunch, coffee tour and quick shop. Plus a lesson on the history if Hawaii and it's present operation

I took my teenage sons to Hawaii for Thanksgiving week. We booked Kea for a Snorkel and touring guide. She picked us up at our hotel and took us to the lava tubes which my sons loved walking and climbing through, then we went north past the old town of Kona to snorkel at Two Step. She provided all the snorkel equipment, bottle waters and towels and even helped my son rig his Go-Pro since he didn't have any attachments. I was a couple of months out of my knee replacement surgery and was a bit apprehensive about walking on the wet lava/rocks to get into the ocean, but Kea took special care of me and helped make the whole snorkel experience fantastic for me and my sons. She even dove down and picked up sea urchins and sea cucumbers for us to see and touch. Then she gently placed them back down. After snorkeling she treated us to a lovely lunch, then we stopped at the Big Island Hawaiian Chocolate factory and later we stopped for Shave Ice and then we headed back to our hotel. All along with way, Kea provided interesting tid bits of history of the island (she is a native). She is a very pleasant person to be with. I highly recommend her as a tour guide.

Kea was a great tour guide and helped create a fun day around the things we wanted to do. It was a fantastic way to see the island together with family. We toured coffee farm, cliff jumped, visited black sand beach and visited Volcanoes National Park. Lunch spot was awesome too!

Kea was so nice and so informative about the island and different places we visited. We went to the farmers market and she had picked up some fruit to share which was super yummy. We visited several spots in Kona that were awesome. We finished up at a local brewery called Ola and then Kona brewery. It was so awesome.

Our day was perfect with Kea- We were a party of (4), two couples from NJ. Kea orchestrated the day with our requests and planning our time to be most effective. She picked us up right at the pier for POA on time. We then ventured to Akaka Falls and Rainbow Falls, in the air conditioned and very roomy, new Van. She then drove us to a Lava Tube, Steam Vents and Volcano National Park. Each stop was leisurely and she explained in detail about the highlights of the Culture, history and any other questions we had for her. She treated us to lunch at a local eatery. We then ventured to the Mauna Loa nut factory, Orchid florist and returned us safely to the pier in plenty of time to be back on board. The entire trip was very enjoyable and we would never have been able to gain the knowledge or experience on our own for the day. Thank you Kea.

It’s been longer than I’d intended in writing this review, but before I toss out my Island Wide Family Tours business card, I wanted to let Kyle and Kea, the owners of this wonderful tour company, know just how much we appreciated their professionalism, knowledge, kindness and going the extra mile for their customers during our tour on the Big Island last April. Kyle was more than happy sharing his knowledge of the island, which encompassed everything from the volcanoes to the flora and fauna to the local folklore, which we were delighted to hear. We were traveling with our friend’s elderly mother and Kyle always made sure she was comfortable and safe, ensuring she felt secure as entered and exited the van. Actually, he provided that extra touch for all of us! The van was a nice, newer Nissan 3500 that was roomy and plush and certainly enhanced our overall experience. At the end of our tour, Kyle took us to a local café for lunch which offered delicious local fare and was included in the cost of the tour. I wish I could remember the name of the restaurant but when you book your tour with Island Wide Family Yours, they’ll know and gladly steer you in the right direction. I was saddened when I heard that Kilauea in Volcanoes National Park fully erupted soon after our visit to Hilo (it was making small rumbles when we visited) for the obvious reasons but also because I surmised the closing of the park would impact Kyle’s business. I sincerely hope they were able to weather the storm not only because they deserve it but because they provide such a valuable service for those traveling to Hawaii. Be sure to call Island Wild Family Tours next time you visit the Big Island. You will be very happy you did!

Kea took us to places we have never been on the big island. Some of us had been to the island more than 5 times. She allowed us to customize the tour however we wanted. The snorkeling spot was beautiful and we even had a beginner who did it! Thank you so much for a lovely day and we can’t wait to come back for more!

How winding are the roads on the tours? My sister gets terribly carsick on curvy roads.

I agree with the other responses I think your sister will be fine. The Big Island has much straighter roads than the other island tours we took on Maui and Honolulu.
