What a pleasure to book with Hawaiin Style Fishing. Josh and Tyler are highly recommended! Both are knowledgeable and know their trade well as we had a very successful day fishing. We also did a 4 hour charter and these two are definitely in the zone with finding the fish. Would book with them again.Definitely a highlight to our trip.

We did a 4 hour charter with Josh & Tyler.
It was a great experience, my son Craig and I have fished only freshwater so we knew this was going to be different. After catching some baitfish we went out to 240ft depths. Hooking into several types of beautiful fish, it wasn't easy getting them to the boat. I've fished my entire life and these two guys are the real deal. They definitely know their spots, every time they moved we had hits or a fish. We loved the boat, really a great setup for fishing . They gave us plenty of fish as we had fresh fish for 3 meals, snapper was the best. Don't hesitate to book these guys They were awesome.

Where to start! Terry and his boat were amazing. We had the best time just talking and laughing with Terry. The fishing was great too. He took his time to teach us how to spot where fish were, and made sure we caught some. Our kids had an amazing time as well. Terry had snacks, drinks, and a huge bag of fresh fruit from his tree for us. Unforgettable experience!

Writing this a bit late as our trip was end of June this year but couldn't not leave a review for such a great place AND people! They were responsive to a couple of email questions beforehand and we booked our trip in the morning ( per their suggestion) maybe 2 months in advance.
It was the 4 of us on a charter ( hubby, me and our 2 " kids" age 18 and 22). We've never been fishing on the ocean before but have been in lakes many times. I think the fit with our kids went well with having the two brothers as our captains - so personable, helpful, explain things as to what was going on.
We caught 8 Silver Tuna I think they were called. They definitely knew where to go as soon after, a couple other boats followed us close to the spot! They are locals and really know the area, and people in it. They aren't afraid to try new spots or techniques and really know what they are doing. I will mention they were a little cheaper for the same timeframe as a few other places we looked into and definitely gave them a tip! Well deserved!

Cpt Terri from Hawaiian Style Fishing was a real treat on our visit to Kauai. He put us on the Skip Jack first thing in the morning and when it became too crowed with other fishing boats he was not afraid to pull up and go somewhere else to accommodate our wishes. My granddaughter wanted a swordfish, so we went looking. Sadly we didn't find one but we still had skipjack and a small Mahi Mahi for dinner for the next few nights.

These guys are amazing! We booked a 6 hour trip but ended up coming back in 4, because some of us got pretty seasick, and they were so accommodating. Even though the sea was rough (which is to be expected with open water in a big ocean), we caught many Aku and yellow fin tuna, and they cut plenty for us to eat all week long. They are professionals and know what they are doing. They also knew where to find fish. When we noticed all the other charters were not catching around the same area and we were, we knew we picked the right guys! They are local and know the water! You will not be disappointed!

They worked hard to find fish and we did. 10 tuna on the off season. If there are fish I think they could find them. Nice small boat clean good equipment.

More fun than any other experience we paid for on the islands. Just the boat ride is worth the cost. If you catch fish, terrific. Certainly your chances for that with Terry and his family are as good as you can hope to find, They are very knowledgeable and they work at it. No just "run out lines and boat around" for these folks. On top of that, Terry is just special. I could enjoy hanging out with Terry on or off the water. The chance to see Kauai from the water, looking back at the island, gives a view and perspective that is wonderful. And if sea sickness is any concern at all, take a Dramamine the night before and another an hour before your trip, and that will seal the deal. A terrific memory. All the best to Terry and his sons.

Terry & his family have run this great charter business for decades.
These people are safe, fun, reliable, 'old school Kauai friendly' ...and they grew up in these waters and know their stuff year after year!
It no doubt took lots of brains, grit and calm, steady strength to survive covid shutdown of Kauai.
HIGHLY recommend and wouldn't fish with anyone else in all of Kauai!

We booked this charter from past reviews. Josh and Tyler did not disappoint. The day started out slow and at that point they applied their local knowledge to put us on some outstanding fishing. We landed fish after fish with multiple doubles. It will be a trip we all remember.

If you book out of Kapaa there's restrooms right there to use right before & after going out though.

Just talk to Terry and let him know what you would like to do. We asked if we could have enough for a meal or two for 10 adults - it was not a problem, his only request was that we don't let anything go to waste.
In the end, he told us he wants people to leave happy, and that says a lot about the stand up guy he is!
