This company was recommended to us by the tour company we were using on this particular day. The drivers were nice - specifically the woman who picked us up who was super talkative and friendly. The reason I gave this good is because I was quoted one price when I called and charged another. I was charged about $40 more than I was quoted. When I called to ask, the owner said that she doesn't know why that would be because their standard price is what we were charged, and actually she was supposed to charge this price ($68) for each person in the taxi (which was 3). At any rate, I was quoted $104 round trip, but was charged $142. I didn't argue about it, but I know for a fact I was told $52 each way for the ride because I got off the phone and immediately told my husband. I was also annoyed that the return taxi driver (a guy) was skeptical about letting us in the car because we might be muddy from the ATV tour. We assured him we had cleaned off (we didn't get muddy, just dusty and we cleaned off), yet he acted a little annoyed about it. He wasn't friendly at all - and I know taxi drivers are there to drive you, not chat with you. It's an added bonus if they are pleasant. The bottom line is they did the job and were reliable enough, but they definitely charged me what they wanted and I had no recourse since nothing was in writing. I would get something in a text or an email regarding fares if you use this company.

I would encourage everyone contemplating using this company to look elsewhere. I really would; not only me but all of the other 15 people slated to use its services would share my opinion.
We booked with this company for a shuttle in March/23, only after confirming that it would refund our upfront full payment should our ship not make landfall. Once I received that confirmation, I booked on behalf of our group.
Long story short, we did not make landfall in Kauai. Not our fault. We did not cancel. The ship's captain chose not to got there because of weather/safety concerns. We contacted Kauai Taxi, told them the information and asked of our refund. We were flatly refused! Reminding us that their refund policy stated clearly that after a certain time, no refunds would be issued if/when we cancelled. We insisted that we did not cancel but were prevented from going. Several of our group complained. I even sent them a copy of their email confirming the "not making landfall exception" but no, for one reason or another Kauai Taxi refused.
All of us contacted our respective credit card companies to dispute the charge. Finally, after several emails between it and myself, the company relented and issued a refund less a small admin fee.
Yes, we finally did get that refund but not without some difficulty and very high resistance from Kauai Taxi. So, if you need a taxi/shuttle service in Kauai, look elsewhere.
I might add that the tour company to which Kauai Taxi was engaged to shuttle us to, Kauai Outdoor Adventure Tours, immediately issued us a full refund (no admin fees withheld). Now that's honourable and ethical.

Definitely will use again Prompt courteous and text reminding me of times and forgot a phone in the taxi and was able to get it first thing next morning when it was found very appreciated

We decided not to rent a car during our recent trip to Kauai. We pre arranged two trips with Kauai Taxi Company. Drivers were on-time and professional. Vans were clean and comfortable. Price was reasonable.

Awful Customer service. Carol canceled our reservation when we called just to check what was the cancellation policy. After waiting for about 15 min and taxi no show we called back to see where was our taxi and were told that “we cancelled our reservation earlier”. Somehow, we never requested "please cancel our reservation" Our friend could give us a ride and wanted to see if we could cancel the reservation. When Carol said the taxi cancellation is non refundable there was no point to cancel the taxi, we told her “let it be” So, this company charge us full price, cancelled the service without our request and was very rude when we called back. We almost missed our flight, luckily, we're able to order an Uber.

Our vacation has been an incredible experience and we owe a lot of that to Kauai Taxi Co. This seems to be a rather busy time for them due to everything going on with Covid, but despite it all they have been accommodating, friendly and so helpful. If you find yourself needing a ride in Kauai absolutely reach out to them first.

I pre arranged for my taxi to pick me up from my hotel and drive me to the fern grotto river tour location, then pick me up and take me back to hotel. My driver was so conscientious that upon finding out she could not pick me up from fern grotto, she arranged for another taxi company to pick me up. Now that's customer service!!!

very pleasant and professional. he was always there on time. his wife came back next day to take us to our tour location and came back to pick us up on time. great taxi drivers.

We arranged our transportation through Carol before we visited Kauai. We really appreciated her thoughts on the feasibility of our travel plans and pointing out that we were scheduling our excursions too close together. We used them for round trip transportation for 2 days. They were on time picking us up both days. They were very clear on where we would meet them for our pick ups. We did not wait long to be picked up once we called for pick up. We enjoyed talking with our drivers about the island, things to do, and places to eat. Thanks for the Duke's tip. Thank you Carol for all of your help.

If you need a taxi service while your'e on the island we highly recomment using Rose Medina. Any hotel will have her number, or email me and I will give you the number. Not sure if I am allowed to put it on here.
