Josh was super helpful from the first day I called this school. He gave me tips on how to plan the trip, where to stay, and what equipment to bring. After I arrived he was great about texting to confirm the lessons, making it clear where to meet, and so on.
My instructors (two days with Jesse, two days with Tyler) were great. My goal for this trip to Maui was to learn to kite upwind. On the second day I was solidly staying upwind and starting on transitions. Very happy with the instruction and the results. They were also very helpful getting me set up to kite on my own. They showed the areas to avoid in the water, explained how people rig and launch at this beach, and helped me with a few small issues like getting the foot straps on my board set properly.
All in all, zero regrets, very happy with this school.

Sadly, although I had booked three days, the winds died and I was only able to kiteboard for one day. That said, it was a great day, mostly due to my instructor, Josh. Super instructor. Can't say enough good about him.

From initial contact through lessons and follow up KSM provided excellent service. I initially contacted KSM via email concerning kiteboarding lessons for my son-in-law and daughter, and possibly an advanced lesson for myself. Josh was quick to respond and provided helpful answers to my questions concerning current conditions in Maui.
Jesse provided a great beginner lesson to my son-in-law and daughter. I watched the last hour after doing some kiteboarding on my own gear and was impressed with both his knowledge and teaching style. So much so that I scheduled an "advanced lesson" for myself.
My "advanced lesson" with Josh was great. For those of us who didn't learn to kiteboard off a nice big beach there are kite launching and landing techniques that we don't know. Josh helped fill in these important gaps in my knowledge with great instruction and lots of practice. I'm a teacher myself and found his explanations clear and fundamental (easy to remember). KSM uses radios very effectively and reliably.
KSM made good use of web, email, and texts for initial contact, scheduling, and to make sure we knew where to meet and what to bring, as well providing reminders. Instructors are very good with all students including those of us that are a bit past our prime, i.e., 60+ years old. Would definitely return for more advanced instruction on my next visit to Maui.

I returned to KSM in August and took 2 lessons with Gerry and 3 lessons with Josh. Gerry told me some tips so that I can get on the board consistently while Josh told me many things and correct my mistakes in the water. At the last lesson with Josh, I was able to ride upwind on the right side.
Both Gerry and Josh are excellent instructors, especially Josh who is an amazing. He is very skillful and passionate about teaching. He is very positive, encouraging, and patient. He explains the details about the kiteboarding techniques on the beach and make sure that I understand them, observes and identifies my mistakes while I am in the water, and helps me to correct them. He helps me to believe that I can be a kiteboarder and makes it become a reality. Thank you, Josh!

Josh and Jesse aren't just pros at kiteboarding, they're pros at teaching. They listen to you, and give you just the right amount of instruction after each run to progress you to the next level without overloading you with information. That's super important in a sport like this where so much is happening at once. But most of all, you will have fun. Logistics were super easy and the communication was great. If you ever thought about trying it out, this is the place and the crew.

After completing my lessons at KSM, I can finally consider myself a kiteboarder. Instructions from Josh on where to meet and what to bring were very clear. My instructor was Jesse and he did an excellent job in explaining and providing examples on what I was doing wrong. His instructions were clear and concise…something that was missing from previous instructors. If you want to learn kiteboarding, Maui is the place to do it.

Gabi is great! She is a young college student and a good kiteboarding instructor. She is gentle, sweet, patient, and encouraging. I took water start lessons from her, she is able to help me to get on the board and ride for 10 feet after one day lesson. Sports is not my strength and I has no board experience. This progress is a big step for me. I will take lessons from her again and hope to be able to ride on the board 😊

The guys are KSM are legends. Josh was super responsive and helpful in getting everything set up and Jesse was an amazing instructor. I was cruising along after three lessons and now ready for more. Cannot recommend these guys enough!!

Decided to try Kiteboarding on my trip to Maui. Josh got me the directions to the beach, and met me there to give me an intro as well as get me set up. My instructor was Jesse. I had no prior experience in any water sports. Jesse made the lesson easy to understand and I got plenty of hands on experience. After the 1st lesson I wanted to take another and Josh got me set up with Jesse for another day. On second lesson I was able to get alot more trouble shooting on the board and tips from Jesse. Definitely a sport I'm looking forward to continue learning! I would highly recommend these guys if you are looking into Kiteboarding! 100% an awesome experience!
