The crew was very helpful and safety conscious.
It only took 10 to 15 minutes to get out to the floating shark cage.
There were very large sharks there the entire time, inches from us.
I highly recommend this encounter.

We went out on the 9AM trip on September 22, 2024. Our Captains were David and Ephraim. We took a short ride out to the shark cage, and our group of four went in the cage first (12 total on our boat). All four of us immediately saw Galapagos sharks swimming around the cage. We brought our own snorkel gear, but masks and snorkels were available. GoPros were available to rent. We had our own so I don’t know the cost. The trip was wonderful, we got fabulous pictures, and our Captains took great care of us and had lots of information about sharks in the region. Highly recommend!! 10/10

I was a little nervous when booking this experience but my husband was super excited! He had recommended this company after doing research and seeing all the good feedback. It was easy to book and the boat ride was good. I’m someone who gets motion sickness easily so I took a Dramamine and had no issues on the boat ride. Being in the cage is not as scary as it seems and the crew were very educated and made me feel much more relaxed. Towards the end I got a little nauseous after the waves started picking up but once I got back on the boat, drank some water, and we headed back I was totally fine. We would definitely recommend this experience and would do it again!

We had an amazing experience. I am actually terrified of the sea but he the kids wanted to go so we wanted them to enjoy the experience. After seeing the sharks from the back of the boat and talking to the guide I decided to join them. Well I must say I thoroughly loved it and would highly recommend the tour, the guys (Hunter and the experienced Shark expert - sorry forgot your name) made us feel relaxed, and I would of missed out on a life experience if you had not made me feel at ease. So from all of us Mahalo (Thank you)

Such an amazing experience! Knowledgeable and safety oriented crew with full focus on giving us the best experience ever. You can feel the crew’s passion for what they do every step of the encounter. This can easily be one of the coolest things I have ever done! I will do it again when I am in Hawaii again. I highly recommend!

If you've never been shark cage diving, it is life changing. I cannot recommend it enough through Hawaii Shark Encounters. As awesome as the experience is in itself, the chill, knowledgeable, and reassuring boat captains made the trip successful for my family (two adults, a 12, and a 10-year old). We felt calm and safe the entire time because of their lead while having a kind blowing time watching these serene beauties.

We did this with our kids (9 and 11), and had an amazing experience. Not only was everything as promised but more. The crew lend us a GoPro stick and made sure our family went in together in the cage. Everyone was super friendly and helpful in any way. Don’t have one bad thing to say, definitely would book this company again!

This was amazing! I want to do it all over again! We must have seen over a dozen sharks beside and under the cage, seeing them was almost surreal like you were watching shark week.

Shark Diving in the North Shore at Oahu was an experience of a lifetime! The boat hadn’t even stopped yet & there were so many sharks, one even a little bigger than 8 feet! When I went, I was nervous & didn’t really know what to expect. I didn’t have much knowledge of sharks but Caleb was so attentive and loved to educate us on the beautiful & magnificent Galapagos sharks. I left with profound respect and knowledge for these sharks, so much so that I would do a cage-free shark dive, something that I never thought I would even say. Mahalo for the amazing opportunity!
& a little side note: I do recommend taking some Dramamine before going out if you can! I didn’t have any nausea, but some people with us were a little nauseous from the waves

This was pretty amazing, the tour guides were super cool, knowledgeable and attentive! Only thing is I wish the website would have warned me to take Dramamine before… I had a good time until I got soooo sea sick. I wish I would have prepared so I would have enjoyed more time in the cage with my husband. We went out on the 7 am tour and it was just 4 of us, two couples- which would have been perfect for more time in the water.. but I was so sick and I just wanted to head back. Anyways, glad we could say we did it. We rented a go pro and got some cool pics, take Dramamine!! Thank you to the tour guides- super rad young dudes. Mahalo

If someone was to have a reaction to it and say it’s because we as Hawaii Shark encounters encouraged it, we would be liable. It is definitly a great precaution to take but as far as advertising it, we are unable to do so. We are glad you had a good time otherwise and we hope to see you again for another epic adventure. Unfortunately, no. You must provide your own transportation to the north shore town of Haliewa. It is every bit of an hour and maybe a little more from Waikiki by auto so an Uber or Lyft would likely run near a $100 or maybe more each way! Rent a car for the day, do the shark encounter, then spend the rest of your day exploring the beautiful North Shore.

I have booked this trip, and due to go in April, unfortunately I have damaged my cartilage in my right knee, how easy is it getting in and out of the cage, and back on to the boat.

Crew very helpful, and I do understand, I'm missing most of L5 and have titanium plate in my neck with cadaver disks,and 6 screws holding left elbow together and had a amazing experience. The crew,is really great!

My husband is 350 and he didnt have a problem. There are places to put your hands...and the guys are right there to help. Also we went at 6am so there were only 6 in the cage. We had a really good time and would recommend this company.

No bathroom water was fairly rough but never got sick could still see land so we had something to focus on. There was bathrooms at the marina.

Yes there is. The parking lot is right next to the boats. Maybe a 2 or 3 minute walk.

Cage is taken out each morning and brought back each evening. The boat docks up to the cage while you snorkel in it. I highly recommend this trip to anyone interested however, there is a comment above stating the cage is high enough out of the water that the sharks can't get in. Sharks are wild unpredictable animals and although not likely there is the possibility that they could get in the cage.
