Wanting to explore Acadia National Park on E-bikes, our motel ( Bar Harbor Villager Motel) recommended that we pop across the street to see about renting at Acadia Stand Up Paddling. Chris happened to be in the store but indicated that they weren’t officially open for another week. He then asked what we were interested in doing and we said the e-bikes the next day. He said ok that he would be at the store at 10am the next day and we could come by and rent the bikes. The prices are great for an all day rental. This includes bike rental, a helmet and lock for each bike. We also got a special discount since we were staying at Bar Harbor Villager Motel. The bikes are supposed to go about 50 miles (if you stay on settings 1-3), however if you decide to go on the Loop Road around the park you will use the 4, possibly 5 depending on your level the bike will probably go about 30 miles. Since the bikes were new that hadn’t had their break in period so I had a little bit of issue with my battery but Chris met us in the park at a designated spot and we switched out the battery. Customer service was top notch!!! Would definitely recommend going there for the e-bike experience. The carriage road was not open for us but should be soon and heard that was a great way to see park. If I had a choice between driving in the park and riding an e-bike, I would choose e-bike. My husband and I are both in our 60’s and had a great time doing it. These are peddle assist bikes, so you have to peddle to get the extra boost of power so you can still get in a great workout. Oh, they have places to lock up your bikes in Acadia which is a lot easier than finding a parking spot!!!!
