Had an amazing day with Tom from Atlantic Climbing School - the kids (aged 12, 10 and 8) loved it so much that we actually booked a second day at another site! One of our children had climbed before, but the others had not (nor had us parents). Tom made everyone feel at ease despite the challenge involved, and the heights / cliffs. Our first day was at the Precipice South Wall (standard climb up and rappel down), and our second day, the kids climbed at a site on the ocean - though this one was a bit scarier (for some) because it involved rappelling down first and then climbing up (therefore no choice to 'give up' halfway through...!), the views were unbelievable and we are so thankful for the experience! On the second day at the cliffs (kids only), we had an opportunity to sit nearby to watch them and take great photos. Highly recommend ACS and are grateful to Tom for the once in a lifetime experience!

We booked our climbing experience as a last minute thing. No one in our family of four has any prior climbing experience was some were a little apprehensive. Everyone we encountered at ACS was super friendly and encouraging. Our guide was Adam and he did an amazing job teaching us, being attentive and focusing on safety. The weather wasn’t the best which created some challenges but Adam made sure to find spots for us to climb that were fun, challenging and rewarding all at the same time. I felt like Adam was super genuine and had a lot of fun along with us today. Both of my kids (12 & 9) had an amazing time and would do it again for sure. I would highly recommend ACS for anyone looking for a fun and unique experience in Acadia.

Family of four (50, 50, 17, 14) climbed otter cliffs with Mike in July 2024.
Scenery can’t be beat! Sooo much natural beauty, climbing with the surf crashing below is both breathtaking and exhilarating. All four of us were first time climbers. Upon first viewing the cliffs we believed that it would be too challenging for us. However, Mike’s calm demeanor, experience and easy teaching style set us at ease and gave us the confidence to push forward. With Mike’s guidance, we all had successful climbs and felt the thrill of accomplishment over what looked to be insurmountable challenges. In reality, the cliffs are beginner climbs but look a lot more difficult given the ocean below.

Adam was an excellent guide and made our first multi-pitch climbs memorable. He was thorough in his explanations and instructions and very attentive to safety. As I am shorter than my husband, he pointed out alternative reaches that worked for me and even marked them with chalk. He seemed to have genuinely enjoyed climbing at The Precipice with us, even though he had already guided before our afternoon session. This was our second climbing experience with AMC and we would highly recommend them for a unique Acadia experience.

Calvin was a great tour guide for our family of 4 with variable rock climbing experience. Excellent instruction & attentive to safety.
My son said he was very good at giving specific suggestions for hand & foot holds, especially going down.

We had a 11 year old and a 60 year old in our group. Our Guide Tom was AWESOME in making sure everyone climbed to their ability;
His selection of location was perfect and we had the whole place to ourselves. The half day was just the right amount of time. Our group of three took turn while a fourth member of our group - Non climber - was guided to the perfect spot to take pictures.
We got a work out, and saw some beautiful country. This was our fourth year with Atlantic Climbing School. We have had a different guide each time and they have ALL been wonderful. Very helpful and very safety conscious.
Highly recommend.

I had a great half day session with Calvin on July 25th. He was very knowledgable about climbing and helped me learn how to climb. I have never gone outdoor rock climbing before and this experience makes me want to go again. I would highly recommend Atlantic Climbing School to anyone and also recommend Calvin as a guide.

Mike and Mike were wonderful guides for our family of 5. All of us were inexperienced, doing it for the 1st time. They made us feel comfortable and provided the required basic safety information along with other climbing information.
We did 2 climbs and 1 rapelling. Will do it again anytime and highly recommend Atlantic Climbing school.

The entire event was seamless. Annie in the office was very helpful. Max, our guide, was incredible. It was me, my sister, and my 2 teenagers. Having no experience with rappelling or climbing I was nervous (especially for my kids), but Max made us thoroughly comfortable. He reviewed all of the safety measures, taught us the function of the tools and was very encouraging to all of us. We all had a tremendous time. Highly recommend Otter Cliffs. Was magical and thrilling and gorgeous!
