I always loved China Beach. I grew up nearby. It was mainly a “locals” beach; until the internet was invented. Once upon a time, this was an amazing spot, with a sun deck, outdoor/indoor showers (w/hot water!) us swimmers and surfers loved it. One of the last remaining beaches were no pets are allowed. Unfortunately, more and more people started coming to this beach and they brought their unruly children. I witnessed some really bad uncivilized behavior at this location. The management just couldn’t keep up, so they closed the facility.

It was pretty quiet, and so beautiful. A tad chilly but it's October. It was a little bit of a hike but worth it. We did see some skinny dippers which was interesting and fun to see their giddiness about it.

It is hard to access this beach. When we finally reached there, it looked quite dirty. The regular restrooms were closed, replaced by portable toilets which were disgustingly dirty. The view was beautiful though. However, with so many good beaches and beautiful trails around, who would spend time to visit this one?

This is a pleasant beach, but it is cold, foggy and windy so do not plan to get a sun tan. And it is way too cold to go in the water.

oooooouuuuuh I love China Beach. The love the neighborhood vibe. I feel sorry for the residence/neighbors because of tourest traffic!

Alors oui, cette plage ne vous fera pas forcément rêver quand vous allez arriver. Mais par contre allez au bord de la mer et admirez cette vue incroyable sur le Golden Gate Bridge: ouha! Venez sur cette plage uniquement pour cette vue car sinon... très bruyante, pas forcément très propre. Par contre, elle semble fréquentée beaucoup par les locaux semble-t-il.

Si vous êtes à vélo (électrique c'est mieux parce que la remontée est bien raide), en sortant du Lincoln park ne pas hésiter à faire un arrêt photo sur cette plage peu fréquentée. Très belle vue sur le pont si le ciel est dégagé.

After a day sight seeing in San Francisco we Came upon the China Beach gate. What a beautiful view. It happened to be a clear night.
