It is a notable neighborhood and it includes nice streets and some of them are of visit attraction. The most popular streets are Lombard Street and Union Street. It is close to Little Italy as well.

Residential neighborhood full of luxurious homes and endless slopes. It has no special tourist interest other than the views obtained of the bay and Alcatraz.

I walked up and down the hill from Nob Hill many times through a residential area on a back street where the cable car runs, and although there were hardly any people around, it seemed like a safe place.
The hill above Lombard Street faces the ocean (you can see Alcatraz Island), and the cable car is a must-see spot for photos.
Further down the hill is a new park on the left (Russian Hill Park). Families were playing there, and there was a dog run, making it a great place to relax.
There was a public toilet in the park, and I was cautious when I entered, but it was clean and new, and there were parents with children using it, so I felt safe using it.
A little further towards the ocean is Ghirardelli Square, where you can also use the toilets.

Cool little neighborhood with cafes and bookstore. Nice views of the bay. Not worth going out of your way but a cool stop if you’re there.

This is a lovely area in San Francisco, which provides some stunning views of the city.

Find yourself on a short visit to San Francisco with a limited budget while trying to squeeze in as many iconic pictures as possible? No worries, we’ve got you covered!
The approximately 1/2 square mile of the “Russian Hill” neighborhood is gonna be where it’s at for you. From this one location you can capture great pics of ALL of the following “City by the Bay” treasures: the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Cable Cars, Lombard Street, Coit Tower, and the stunning neighborhood that features great views of all of these destinations.
Although traversing some steep hills is necessary, I’d recommend making this a walking journey (if possible) with a great launch point being the entrance to George Sterling Park at the corner of Lombard and Larkin.
If you’ve invested in the expense of a telescopic camera lens now is exactly the time to attempt to justify that purchase to your family.
No matter how you choose to travel through this picturesque neighborhood, be sure to keep your camera handy because you’ll be using it often.

Neighborhood that features nice architecture, steep hills and great views of the city and bay. This is the location of Lombard Street and can be easily accessed by cable car traveling along the Powell-Hyde line.

It's a little hard to walk around this neighborhood as the hills are formidable. But it's worth the effort because the views and the architecture are so lovely. And you can take a cable car to get up on top. The Crookedest Street is here.

This is a great area! We rode the Hyde cable car up to Russian Hill and Lombard Street. The hills were overwhelming but the cable car drivers were outstanding and knowledgeable!
