One of those gems found in small towns across the country. The museum is packed with maritime artifacts and displays about local history. The museum also teaches traditional boatbuilding onsite.

Extremely well-done local museum showcasing the nautical history of the Bayfield area. Not large and can be easily done within an hour. Free admission makes this a family friendly activity, and it is right across from a nice park area for a picnic if you are so inclined. This was an enjoyable visit with lots of interesting exhibits.

My husband thought we would be here 10 minutes....we were there at least 45 minutes. Lots of history and information about the area. We really enjoyed it an gladly donated.

This is one of many museums on the Lake Superior dealing with maritime history and sailing and shipwrecks - and it's one of the best as well. If the weather is not good to go to Apostle Islands - you have things to do in town (Bayfield), and this is a good way to spend time indoors and learned a lot about the area.

This museum is not very big, but worth visiting to learn about the fishing and maritime industry as well as local history

Great little museum and way to spend an hour learning about some of Bayfield's history. Very interesting. We would visit again when we are in the area.

This free museum is worth the visit when walking around Bayfield. It had many interesting displays and lots to read if you want to take the time. There was an attendant on duty that seemed eager to answer questions and talk to the visitors. Even if you’re not into museums, stop in for a short while to see all they have on display.

Really a good addition to the area considering pretty much all of the history and livelihood centers around Lake Superior - thorough, easy to follow. Worth a visit when in the area. Volunteer was knowledgeable and helpful.
