Great Side by Side adventure!
2021年10月 • 夫妻情侣
We rented an ATV from Moab Side X Side and went up to Hurrah Pass one afternoon. This was a great day. This is beautiful ATV ride, it feels a bit scary at times but the ATV had no problem managing the climb. I am afraid of heights and drove most of the way. There are lots of areas to pull off and take a picture, let people pass, etc. I highly recommend doing this! Well worth the money. Give yourself 4 hours or so to go the whole way!

Slow, remote drive
Overall, a fairly remote feeling and somewhat desolate drive. Not recommended when very warm due to complete lack of shade. The road from the drop back down to Cane Creek to the turn off for Hurrah Pass is currently VERY washboarded. We took this drive to the Catacombs with several small kids because we'd heard it was about a 90 minute drive from Moab on a fairly easy jeep road (rated class 2).

The drive may be do-able one-way in 90 minutes on a UTV, ATV or dirt bike, but NOT in a stock 4x4. The road is too rough and slow to make in that amount of time unless using specialized equipment with a suspension that can adequately soak up all the bumps. Our trip took about 2 - 2.5 hours from Moab to the Catacombs in a stock Nissan Xterra Off-Road. Comparing to several alpine roads in Colorado like Cinnamon Pass, Black Bear Pass, Corkscrew Gulch, etc. I'd rate the road more like a class 3 due to several sections where careful wheel placement and low-range is advised to avoid dragging on rocks, even with high clearance. This road is not as steep as those, and is shorter overall, but is often just as slow and bumpy. There's one ledge deteriorating and getting significantly rutted out on the east side about ½ way up the pass that was the most challenging spot for us, as well as a sandy hill once down on the west side as you climb out of the wash that can be very difficult to climb out of if staying on the main route.

The catacombs were a fun place for the families to play, but the 5 hours driving required there and back was a bit much for the kids to enjoy, so only recommended if you're not in a hurry and like slow, rocky roads.

A great ride
Took two UTV's with friends and had a terrific ride up and through the mountain area. Beautiful views of the red rocks and canyons. Sprinkles of green can be found where the Colorado River winds through valleys. Definitely a great time.

Base Camp Adventure Lodge Trip
2020年7月 • 夫妻情侣
We happened to find this hidden gem on our way the Base Camp Adventure Lodge for some disc golfing. If you are into off roading and awesome never forget scenery, you want to make sure to take this route. We were lucky to upgrade to a Jeep Wrangler with our rental which easily handled the road. Outside of a couple spots with rocks up higher than others, we easily made it to our destination. Just be careful on your turns and watch for oil pan busters! Many awesome photo spots, including spectacular views of the Colorado River, to stop and take in the landscape. As many have said before, pictures can’t show the awesomeness of this area! Would/will definitely do this again.

Day trip
If you're not fond of heights, this is NOT the trail for you. That said, we rented a 4 person UTV from Moab tour company. We did the Hell's revenge tour the previous day. Fortunately because of the Covid-19 crowds were sparse and we had the trail almost to ourselves. The road we took was chicken corners road. The Hurrah Pass itself is spectacular but not for the person who has issues with heights. Great day trip. Be sure you stop at Hunters Canyon and Moon Canyon on the way back to town.

ATv trip!
2020年7月 • 家庭
We were nervous riding in the Moab area with 2 teenage boys. However a local told us to do The Hurrah Pass and we are so glad we did! They were easier trails with beautiful landscape! There are a few turns that may take your breath away looking strait down into the canyons but very worth it! One teen ride a ATV, other ride dirt bike and we had our General. We had no problems at all! However it was very hot and had to stop in shaded areas as came across them to cool down! Take lots of water and snacks!

We entered Moab from the side of the valley away from the main highway, and the remote area with beautiful views was our introduction to Moab.

The entry to the pass is a challenge for a good 4x4. Once on the road to the pass the view is second to none in the USA
